I think Ohaneze is only looking at the small business exemption threshold. But the 60% derivation punishes those states where federal govt. policies were at least, partly responsible for their problems. For example , Ndigbo are responsible for at least, 50% of Lagos's IGR - why ? We know why IGBOs in particular(others too) are in Lagos in their numbers. Because federal govt policies that made sure Igboland neither had the federal govt presence nor the infrastructures that would have kept most of them at home. If Lagos is the only Port by policy where vehicles come into this country for example; and naturally need to get plate numbers and licences before going on the road, which state is getting those fees and the accompanying VAT ? So, IGBOs continue to pump money into Lagos purse while their states are starved of funds

Your analysis is correct which the SE political leaders and the people knows very well but you have to understand that the political leaders of that region are walking a very tight rope right now in this present government because if they act strictly as you wish even you could start accusing them of being against the president for other reasons. they are facing a tremendous pressure from the other side which has helped getting this government but now feel disappointed.
