I'm sure you know this by now, but you had to use the Night Shift database to get the demon name. You almost did, but then got distracted I think. You then use the house symbol and find which name has all four sigils and then arrange them in that order on the mark. That's why Raymond said you picked the wrong demon at the end.

I very recently had a family member pass away, so seeing this game and just the process of taking care of the dead was weirdly healing in a way? Horrifying of course as well, but I am just so thankful for people who do this job and help prepare our loved ones for the final journey. This game was far better than I expected. The scares were just so good and the story held together pretty much the entire time. I am curious about the other endings and scares, but this playthrough was great!

Im sorry for your loss, I came to say your comment is exactly why I became a Mortician. I saw my aunt die from cancer and seeing how gentle the funeral home staff were with her and then again years later with my grandfather made me want to do it. I have a bad habit of talking to the people I work on and it may sound weird but for me it gives me some comfort to walk them through the process even though I know they cant hear me.

This game is also just more complex; there’s a ton of different mechanics which is really cool but super overwhelming. I think it’s just a bit of a learning curve :)

This is definitely not a game for streamers or anything of the sort because of how often they get distracted or focus in just making jokes, I would like to play this as soon as I get my PC and actually follow the instructions see what ending I get.

I hope she plays this again too. I ended up getting the game and playing it myself before watching any one else and it's absolutely a HUGE info dump. My first playthrough I just kept having the tapes on repeat and some times would find myself drifting off and thinking about other things so I had to start the tapes over a lot. Its definitely more fun as you play more and learn more secrets and things!

Agreed about the info dump. It's a pretty consistent issue I've seen across multiple playthroughs so far. It's too much to absorb at once, and it also fails to touch on important topics, such as the house of the demon being an important aspect to look out for, or that the specific placement of the sigils matter. This is why most games spread this kind of information out, so that players have time to absorb each piece and so that there's room to go into as much detail as is needed. Also, a lack of clarity on possession vs. tenancy vs. pending possession has been a point of confusion for a lot of people. Clarity on terminology is important in games, and this kind of left it all up in the air as to whether it's all the same thing or actually different concepts.

But Gab had virtually 0% chance to get another ending than the one she did. She is good at solving puzzles when they're presented right in front of her, but when she has to correlate information and understand the rules of an open ended game she usually falls down hard.

This game is fantastic, but suffers from info-dump. When there's too much detail coming at the player, things like the Night Shift Database are often missed! I think after that cassette, it would be nice if the game had the little tutorial footsteps leading to the drawer with the ID card, then back to the computer. I only mention this because the game is incredible, and phenomenally well put-together and seeing it become a massive success would be lovely. Probably 75% of the youtubers I watched play this missed the database the first time around, so maybe tutorializing it would be a nice improvement.

Once you get into the computer and read everything in it, you basically beat the game. It turns finding the sigils in to a game of process of elimination. In some cases, you can find the name after getting the first sigil. Further more, it has the password to key for the basement in it too. Which leads to my point, if they did that, why make it a game at all?

@@abitsourrrrsorry4885 It's not exactly my story to share, but the best one I've heard actually has a similar chilling vibe to it as one of the scares in this game: during an otherwise routine embalming of an older gentleman who'd passed away of natural causes, the mortician witnessed an apparition of an old woman standing beside the table, her hand resting on his as she smiled at him, disappearing as suddenly as she appeared. What makes the story stand out in memory is what happened _after:_ while they were helping the family of the deceased sort out the funerary arrangements, the mortician learned that the man's wife had passed away a couple weeks before he had, and had been prepared for the casket at the same place -- and when the family showed a picture of the elderly couple, it was the same woman who appeared by the man's body. Obviously, it's purely an anecdote that I couldn't independently verify based on the details they were permitted to give (they couldn't give the family's real names, for example), but it's the kind of story that sticks in the mind -- it's spooky, but also kinda heartwarming in its way.

So if you want to play again you should utilise the database on the computer using the passcode on the back of raymonds card in the drawer. You need it to figure out the correct order of symbols on the clay tablet. The demon names are sorted by houses you saw the big insignia in the section where the guy sat on the throne. Also the notepad to check how far along in the game you are must be used in the menu it's on the top left. The scribbles may help you in identifying the demon. Some bodies have an insignia somewhere on them which will help you find the right vessel.

There is a program on the computer with all the symbols and where they go for the mark - and the bottles of reagent in the closet are the blood of vallery to use in the bodies! And i think a special mark starts to show up on the right body?

It is likely you know this now but you missed quite a few things during the run that would have led to the good ending. 1. The night shift system on the computer is where you find the information about Demon names. Raymond mentions it in the first tape. It shows you the correct order to place each symbol once you have all 4. The passcode for the night shift system is in Raymond's personal draw. 2. There is no section of the game that requires you to draw blood from the woman in the box. You already have her blood. It is the contents of the "special reagent bottles". If you go back to the basement area you can see enough visual clues to indicate this. 3. When checking for which body is the right one, there are some subtle and some glaringly obvious ways to tell. If the dead body starts talking in some odd language, then that's the one. Other signs include slight moving or twitching, symbols that randomly appear on the body, that may not have been there when you started examining them.

In a very old building. She said the bodies do move sometimes but she was told that it is because of Rigor mortis and gas escaping the body. She had said one time she saw the fingers move and the eyes open of a body that she was putting make up on . She would also hear whispers while working late lol I can understand why she decided to move far away and work at a store.

The creator has definitely brought this game a long way from the demos. The graphics look even more high quality than before, and the User Interface looks very intuitive (plus the tutorial does a great job of showing what is expected of the player). I was really surprised to see how much more story was added to the main game. Combined with Gab's ability to turn even a very creepy game such as this into a much more relaxing experience, this was amazing!

There's a lot of Evil Dead influence. The deadite like taunting, the tape recordings, and the camera angle when you get buried is very reminiscent of the films.

When you replayed the tape to figure out what to do next, Raymond mentioned you needing to use the database next but I think the demon was distracting you lol, and then he said lastly to put the mark on the body and burn the body and you immediately went “put the mark on the body and burn it okay let’s go” and I was like “noooooo gab!!!” lol. I really do hope you play this again!!

I believe there is a current bug that when the game crashes, the sigils on the walls change to a different symbol, and thus demon. So your original demon was likely different after the restart. I also think the contorting body was your correct one. You want the body that has the symbol of the demon house, that big symbol you saw behind the throne before you got buried. Otherwise, you played it almost the same way Sean did lol

gabs there is a backdoor. it's in cold storage I think its green. Also you need to get the code off the back of Raymond's ID card to log into the computer it'll show you how to find a demon's named and also the things you need to look out for to identify a body.

You got the wrong name. You have to unlock the database on the computer and put the symbols you find in the right order on the mark.

My sister had hemangioma but in her middle finger and her finger grew twice as long and thick as her other fingers. She got bullied a lot for it and was constantly in pain and had a lot of surgeries to take out excess blood vessels and remove scar tissue and stuff so when she was 18 she had surgery to get it removed. Now she only has 4 fingers on her right hand and flips people off with her ring finger and tries to trip up kids by holding out her hand and asking how many fingers she's holding up and when kids say 5 she tells them to count again and then laughs at the looks on their faces when they realize she doesn't have 5 fingers on her hand. When I was younger I thought I caused it cause I ran over her finger with my lil kid plastic bike.

Two main keys of advice, Gab: 1.) Scribble on the paper (the closer to possession you are, the clearer the demon's demonic house symbol is for you to find out it's name so that you can bind it) 2.) Check the demon database on the computer. The password for it is on the back of Raymond's ID card. Also, I would bind the demon (once you know for sure it's house symbol and name) to the body it seems to use the most, e.i. the first body you chose that twisted off the gurney.

I never really comment on any of your many videos I've been watching since I discovered you through Observation Duty but damn I just really love your videos and the chill way you play, enjoy and recap the games! Just saw there are already 2 uploads for this game on your channel and I am loving that I get to watch both back to back at 3am right now. Always love your playthroughs!! I have been holding back on this game to watch you first! Hmm, I am around 1hr 30 mins in and reading Raymond's notes/breakdowns somewhat reminds me of Shiki the anime, of Toshio's uhh...records of experimentation on Kyouko. Well not the same level of 'degenerate' per say as one is merely trying to find ways to exorcise ghosts while the other is experimenting on his dead wife (to also find a cure) but...just kinda similar vibes for some reason XO

I love this and everyone's experince. Gab had some good scares in here..but why dont poeple.check the demon database it drives me crazy everyone skips it for so long or misses in entirely.
