I love the combination of using physics in the service of more coherent audio as in the coaxial driver and bending physics as in using intelligent DSP, unique tri-amplification, and specialized driver design. I would have to believe by watching your review these speakers are doing all of this on a very high level of resolution with amazing dynamic range over an extremely, overall, wide frequency band. I've known of Cabasse for years but would have never considered them as they've always seemed quirky. These are quirky in all of the right ways. Judging by their total capability the $4K seems almost a bargain as they might just punch in the range of the no-object price luxury super-premium speakers. You had me with "the most violent French thing".

For the right person, these seem amazing. Size of an LSX, sound of a LS60. Think you'd have to spend quite a bit more to find something better like Legacy Calibre or Dutch&D or Kii, and those are bigger and don't have all the streaming/eARC/features. Though, you could always go thru the hassle of setting up 2 subwoofers and end up with much better sound for less $$$

@shh5323 ай бұрын
If you are looking at tower speakers for the same price, these are not for you, as once you've considered pairing amplification, digital conversion, streaming etc. you are going to go way above these. And for the same price to get separates, it's hard to guess if you'll get something as good, and certainly you won't get something that's as absolutely compact and manageable as these. A pair of the higher end genelecs for instance will run you an extra 3-400 and room correction I'm fairly sure is quite extra on that. These are a specific solution where you want to combine source, amplification, convenience, modern features and sound into a specific package. You could stick them in a home office, on desk, in a bedroom, start off a very nice 2ch setup with these, with room correction built in, without having to worry about any separates, while also getting an actual coaxial performance and really strong low end. That is a very powerful proposition.

As a coder and audiophile, I do like these speakers however, no remote control is a game changer and will make these speakers useless within 5 years and at a price of over 4k that's a lot of money to find yourself with a speaker you cant use. 5 years why? Because you need the app to work to use this speaker and in about 5 years you will have zero support for the app and without the app the speakers are useless. I have Mission Argonaut speakers that I bought in the 80s and they are still working today we all have apps that suddenly stopped working because the phone or table OS has updated but the developer has no further interest in developing that app anymore, normally we would just curse and delete the app now imagine that happening to your HiFi. Its not very good for the planet.

9:02 - "I'm an audiophile." * blink * * blink * o_0 No - no - no - no - NO! Stop yer lying, you imposter! You're not Zeos! I know Zeos. I've been around for awhile. I remember Zeos sitting in that old apartment with the bicycle on the wall and making fun of audiophiles! I remember the REAL Zeos proudly proclaiming that he was NOT an audiophile, because audiophiles do all that silly stuff that's un-necessary. Furthermore, I shall put it to you sir, that you are also no audiophile. Why? Because you are a gadget man. You're excited by "features". Everyone who knows audiophiles knows that they are people who've lost their minds. They are people who are completely obsessed with the sound quality of music reproduction. Not features. They spend endless hours trying to figure out how to make their stereos have higher fidelity to the original master recording, or to surpass it if it isn't good enough. They talk about things like timbre, tonality, soundstage, imaging, and a lot of esoteric things about how electricity behaves when it goes through different materials. You went over every single feature and function of these speakers, but not one word was uttered about soundstage, imaging, or tonality. Hmmm, if not for that erroneous statement, I might've believed you WERE Zeos, after all... :P Edit: Just for clarity, this comment is intended as a light-hearted, deranged rant poking a bit of friendly fun at Zeos, and not a full-on meltdown. Thank you.
