Ik hoop natuurlijk echt dat we van Engeland winnen, maar ik schat onze kansen klein. Alhoewel ik wel altijd de fan ben die tot de laatste seconde blijft geloven. Zo bleef ik ook geloven tijdens het laatste wk in de laatste 8 minuten tegen Argentinië. Ik was een van de weinigen die bleef roepen dat het nog kon. Ik snap ook nooit dat ge'boe' vanuit het publiek. We winnen voornamelijk met geluk nu (tegen Roemenië was wel echt top samenspel). Ik mis gewoon sterspelers zoals robben en van persie. Ik mis tijdens het huidige seizoen wel vaak pit zoals het vroeger kon. Maar wie weet :)

Most People don't know this but Portugal and the Netherlands fought many, many wars throughout their history both in South America, Africa and Asia. At one point the Netherlands invaded all Northern Brazil and from what is now Suriname and occupied all of Northern Brazil while it was under Portuguese rule. They also invaded Angola, bombarded Cabe Verde and St Tome and Principe. Dutch Pirates and Buckaneers also savagely attacked and sacked many Portuguese colonies in Africa. They also fought in India and in South East Asia and as far as Japan, China and Korea against the Portuguese. Both countries would ally themselves to various factions in these Asian countries and fight each other as mercenaries. They pretty much had a mini world War between the two of them that encompassed the whole world. The irony is that both of them absolutely detested the Spaniards. I guess the ghost of their ancestors came back to possess them during this game.

The Dutch started it when first van Bommel tackled Ronaldo from behind, and a few minutes later Boulahrouz attacked Cristiano, extending his leg at Ronaldo's waist level and kicking him in the thigh with all the power. And for that, Boulahrouz only got a yellow card, which was ridiculous. Raising your leg to waist level and kicking it around the waist and thigh of the opposition player, should immediately be a red card, period. This violent foul shows that the Dutch wanted to eliminate Cristiano from the very beginning because Cristiano was already, back then, the biggest threat to them and Portugal's biggest star. It's clear as day. And the Dutch managed to do it because Cristiano eventually had to leave the field very early in the first half, with an injury. So for me, everything that Portugal did afterwards was justified. It was the Dutch who started it, they eliminated Ronaldo due to a disgusting foul, so the Portuguese responded. The referee was at fault, he made a huge mistake - he should have immediately given Boulahrouz a red card for this disgusting attack on Ronaldo. It would be a clear signal to both teams that there would be no tolerance for any harsh fouls, and then neither team would make such a mess out of this match.

The referee let that escalate completely. 20 yellow cards and 4 red if I remember correctly and he forgot some. Deco's red card was because he touched the ball after the wissle.
