Yep, I will always remember this kick! Seen it in the movie a few years ago and since then, it has been my favorite cinematic kick so far! And I watch a lot of martial art movies!

the kick WOULD be very effective. he is at the end of his spin so there would be little momentum lost, the muscles in his thighs moving in opposite directions would provide the inertia needed to start the kick, the muscles in his thighs and calves would provide speed and power to the snap at the end of the kick and the opponent gets hit in the nose with the tibia - this is an amazing kick! as i am a little older, i would need the help of my teammates holding me up in the air to pull it off.

there used to be a show on channel 5 in the US called WMAC masters. and there was a guy on that show called "Tusimai" and his finishing move was the "Rainbow Kick" and it was this kick. Amazing kick, yes but i have seen it many times before.

there's another advantage for a JAB punch and it is you make your opponent feel like he's drunk when you hit him with a some quick jabs in all his body especially his stomach and his nose but the jab has disadvantages too because it won't make much damage and the best timing to do it is when your oponent gets tired and you can make him give up or angry

this is a really good movie, for anyone who wants to watch it i believe its called undisputed,theres like 3 movies i think. Action in this movie is so intense for anyone who loves martial arts movies.

Undisputed 3. I highly recommend this and the first two movies if you like crazy fight scenes. I honestly think the fight scenes in these 3 movies are better coreagrafed than the top action movies to date. Just to clarify this is not a foreign movie.

Well .. Anyone who knows fighting or has fought before (I shall guess you haven't) knows that fast jabs/kicks are actually what stuns an opponent the most, you can actually create a knockout from stunning speed easier than you can a hook.. Yes it looks good and was put in this film for a visual effect, But it still doesnt change the fact that 99% chance you would not see something like that coming and you'd be blacked out before you even realised what he did.

While I can agree with you in general, I do want to point that for years people have been saying the Karate Kid crane kick would never work in a real fight. Then Lyoto Machida goes and pulls it off...on Randy Couture of all people! Sometimes, such techniques work because no one thinks it will and never seen it before. Case in point, when Daniel-San tried it again in Okinawa, not the same result. Either way, I've learned to never say never.

tony ja is an absolute beast in every aspect of the word, you can see his live demonstrations on youtube. he does one kick no lie where he kicks out the glass from a sreet light, he even does it in his demonstrations, saw him do it in this one performance he did during the half time of a basketball game and you can see it on youtube.

very cool. i might ask you to help me as i delve into quantum mechanics. i do admire academic performance. well, done! the title of the vid suggests an amazing kick. no mention was made of it's effectiveness. i believe the kick could be, at least, somewhat effective in that 1- it would startle the opponent and 2- he uses the muscles in his thighs to provide enough inertia to get something out of the kick. it's tough to be sure without knowing alot more about the muscles in the legs.

As a side note, there is honestly no power behind such a kick. He is spinning in the opposite direction at such a speed that it subtracts greatly from the kick. For example, say you can throw a ball 40mph, out, in the opposite direction, the back of the bed of a pickup truck moving at 35mph. A person watching would witness a ball that is thrown with the speed of 5mph. (in a perfect, atmosphere-less world of course.) A kick like this would never do enough damage to even daze anyone.

Scott Adkins is entirely capable of this kick without any wirework or special effects, regardless of how practical or useful the actual move is in a real combat scenerio. Search "Scott Adkins" fight choreography wolverine for his demo reel in which he executes the kick without any Hollywood post-production elements.
