The Most American Game... And How To Destroy It!

Welcome to perhaps the most American game the world has ever seen! This is brotato a dungeon crawling rougelike where you play a potato that can hold guns! How many guns? Up to 6 guns!!!! But what happens if we take the true American route and exploit the game into letting our little potato hold infinite guns! Ever seen a potato fight monsters in a dungeon using 4000 sub machine guns? Well now you have! We then take the experiment further by seeing how many sticks a potato can hold. Because sticks do more damage the more sticks you have the result is infinite damage... So if you are looking for more games like vampire survivors but that happen to be the most american game then you are in luck!
so it's time for me to flex my exploit skills and break the game with infinite guns. My power is unstoppable and I will defeat this impossible challenge with all of my video game exploit experience to discover if this brotato game is broken or can you beat perfectly balanced gameplay indie game!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced game series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. This really shows how long in advance Spiff records some of his videos. The game has 12 waves now (out of the planned 20), most items have been re-balanced, and I'm pretty sure most of these bugs have been fixed. Whether or not new bugs have been introduced, I have no idea. For context, the patch that fixed the multiple gun exploit was deployed on Jun 13, over a month before this video was posted. Still neat, and it's simple videos like this in Spiff's backlog that probably lets him take actual breaks or plan out more time intensive videos.

Interesting that despite the 6 gun limit there are 7 guns animated when you exceed the limit. So apparently, 7 is possible under certain circumstances. Or else there's an array boundary bug in the graphics code. Beyond the one that lets you get 20+ guns in the first place.

They also have a scroll bar in the UI, despite having enough room for 6 guns without the scroll

It looks to me like the devs' code attaches the gun at a default position when it's collected, and then assigns that gun to one of the 6 slots. When those 6 slots are occupied, there isn't a slot to assign it to, so any further guns remain at the default position. You can see that the additional gun isn't distributed like the other 6, it's attached closer to the potato. As far as the scrollbar, many pre-made list display assets will automatically make a scrollbar if the list gets too big for the window.

Maybe one of the potatoes has an "extra gun" perk, six is the standard max but seven is available with a certain skin.

To answer this one of the Potato’s if I remember can either carry 8 or 12 I can’t remember exactly but it does explain the scroll wheel. It doesn’t add any more gun models besides the extra for the default position

This reminds me of a side character in a web comic I found who got something that boosted their luck, which meant that they found more luck-boosting items until they could run into battle naked, not be hit, and could kill anything coming after them with a boulder that randomly showed up and killed their enemy (well that was lucky!). Other characters used him to figure out where they needed to go and where treasure was.
