I think the biggest concern with Ryuk's incident is not what both parties should do but rather what they can do. Given that turn 3 is just a 90 degree turn without a lot of space, it's pretty much impossible to go side-by-side through the corner unless both cars slow down to a quarter of the normal racing speed. Thus, it really didn't matter who was entitled to the corner, because unless one driver completely concedes the corner, a crash is inevitable. In this competitive environment, I think it's too unrealistic to have either driver automatically know they have lost the corner without even putting in an effort to defend, and given turn 3's geometry, any attempt to fight for positions through it would just lead to disaster for both drivers. Since both Ryuk and Limitless have both refused to concede, nothing could have been done by either driver to prevent a crash.
@KCM25NJL2 жыл бұрын
While true, at this level RYUK should have understood that JD had DRS and would have been the car ahead, so concede to fight another day. The fact he got to continue was purely luck.

It's hard to say on that incident at turn 3, you were ahead going into the breaking zone so he should've backed off. But from his point of view it also looked like you slightly didn't give him enough room. But still you had a great race going, and I love watching you're videos.

exactly what I'd have said, its not Ryuk's bad, its not really JD's fault either. Objectively you have a strong case to be unhappy about both of these incidents. I feel as a reserve driver you're even more compelled hold yourself to the highest possible standard, both out of respect for being invited to participate, as well as showcasing yourself to any future leagues that you may be joining. To act in an unsportsmanlike manner only serves as a warning to other leagues that you are not a high-quality candidate and you should be passed over for somebody else. The turn 3 incident is very clearly a case of yourself being significantly ahead going into the corner and, despite having left them space, the opponent not willing to yield to avoid a collision. I hope that you can lift this Baku curse one of these days.

The lap 21 incident, his wheel was infront of your rear wheel, he was still there can't disappear, i'd say you turned in. You also take the risk being on the outside with a wall that close. Theres a different arguement for whether he should have backed out or not though.
@InsertNameHereCO2 жыл бұрын
Nah, for racing at Baku that incident is 80% Mercs fault. He was to far behind to make the corner side by side. He was almost a whole car length behind. Yet made no attempt to make it through together. It was absolutely TRL corner. The racing line is on the outside line exactly where he was. He was making the corner for sure. He left enough room, especially for that corner. Did he squeeze him a bit? Yes for sure. So hed get 10% fault for that. But he wasn't pushing him into the wall or anything. He stayed on his line and was ahead. It's 100% just hard racing but the Merc was racing hard too and just made a dumb choice.

tbh, i do agree with you regarding if hes a pitstop down and a reserve anyway, let you past, you were faster driver faster tyres, no question. However when you slowed down on the straight to get the DRS, hes using battery, you ended up quite far back as turn 1 is quite close to the start/finish line, if you pulled almost alongside and then used DRS you would have comfortably made the move and pulled a gap through the lap. The second incident you did get infront (he was at your rear wheel) so he probably should have yielded, but also more room around the outside could have been given. it's just a very tight corner to go 2 wide on is all.

For the incident with Ryuk I think that he had right to racing room which was left but arguably you turned in a little early and perhaps misjudged where his car was as he was very close when you turned in (ryuk left a barely more than a cars width) At the point when you turn in it's impossible for ryuk to start turning in at the same rate or he would hit the wall, this leaves him with 2 options, 1) Back out of the fight, which he isn't obliged to do or 2) Try and make the corner whilst not turning in to early and leaving enough room on the exit, I think that it would've been a racing incident due to all of these variables (If it wasn't baku and Ryuk could turn in and still have 2 tyres on the track like France turn 8/9 and he kept all 4 wheels on the track then It may have been a penalty for ryuk) This is just my thoughts

@antonsundin29742 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly leaning more towards that being more JD's fault. Ryuk was applying full brakes from the same braking point, just slightly behind. When you decided to take the corner with that line there was nowhere for him to go as he was already slowing down as much as he could, he had the choice between the wall and the mclaren. When there's a red proximity arrow on your screen you can't just erase the space between a wall and yourself like that regardless of who is technically in the right because there will be a crash. But yeah... you could make the argument that battling in a tight 90 degree corner on a walled city track is against some unwritten rule and that the guy in front has priority but expecting that of people at the end of a race is probably gonna end badly a lot of the time. I personally think you should be allowed to stick your nose into any corner if you're that close going into it.

Drivers who aren't far enough alongside the car ahead going into a 90deg turn should expect to have to concede the turn because the leading car has the right to take the racing line. The merc is on the kerb, so he can’t really give up any more space, given the speed/ grip of your tyres relative to the merc you probably could have left all the space and still taken the place. Yes 60/40 mercs fault but you put yourself into the position to be hit instead preserving the car. Cutting people off into a corner never works out at the end of a race you just end up spinning and if you leave the inside for a moron to dive into you only lose maybe 6 tenths so not major in the grand scheme of things.
@David-ym2vk2 жыл бұрын
The first incident looked like the other dude was needlessly defending aggressively when he had nothing to gain from it. The second incident looked like you weren't far enough ahead for that particular corner as it's not one you can go side by side through and you tried to close the door and he said no. From his perspective there was no room left for him on the inside so it was either he concedes or the crash happens and someone comes out better. It was pretty aggressive and ambitious on your part and as with most people, you tend to try more aggressive plays when tilted about something. I would say it was a racing incident that could've been avoided, kinda like when Verstappen and Hamilton ended up with their cars on top of each other.

Incident with Ryuk In my opinion even with I don't race at all was just racing incident, look at it in slow motion, you turned in on him a bit, ofc there was space, but at the angle that Ryuk was going it would be really easy to hit the wall, so in his defense I would say he expected a bit more space, didn't expect to get turned in to, even if you both made the corner there would've been contact for sure, at least I think so, I wouldn't blame anyone here.

Yannick should have yielded in this situation because he had no business in getting involved with the top 5 cars. Ryuk situation was incidental because it was too close. Both of you were fighting for that corner, so unfortunately one or both can spin or wreck. It's enjoyable to watch.

I feel the Ferrari incident is clearly all the Ferrari’s fault. However the RyuK is a bit more of a driving incident but JD was clearly ahead in the corner and in hindsight he should have given up the corner
