For good reasons, I come to your list videos when I want to look for new games or top-up my game wishlist! :D I enjoy survival crafters for being able to build, craft and stockpile resources, and they're not so fast paced too. Medieval ones tend to appeal a lot to me because I prefer plate armor, shields and castles in general. :D Then again, they're often first-person so we don't really get to see our own equipment. 😂 Looking forward to checking out these games. Great video Zakh!

It's just my job to tell people about the game, games still have to sell themselves so no worries about having opinions about it. Right now it's like 70% positive user reviews, so generally people have received it positively. I noticed a lot of the negative reviews weren't in English, apparently there were localisation issues on launch day and a lot of people complained about that.

Why don't you play any more Dear Zakh? Only some game ads...
@GamerZakh
@GamerZakh 6 ай бұрын
To make this message clear, I want to say that this paragraph isn't just about your comment but it's because you're like the 10th person to ask this month, so this response is with that in mind. It's not just for you but also for anyone else reading, so it's not personal. I don't mean to be harsh and the extra emotion isn't directed at you okay? Now, I've been making these lists for over a decade, 'some game ads' is pretty reductive of what I've been doing for 10 years. Besides that, did you watch my Manor Lords gameplay video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/aISmlGaKntWdZ80 Also my next video is a gameplay video, see that on the 30th. How about the second channel I set up for more raw gameplay? www.youtube.com/@GamerZakhXL I'm just tired. I've been grinding for 12 years on this channel and the last 3 years has been a constant struggle. Can I not take a bit of a break? Not even a full break, I'm still making videos once a week, just a half step back so I can rest a bit. Not to mention, most people don't even watch my gameplay! How many have watched my Fallout 2 playthrough? How many watched my Battle Realms playthrough? Have you seen my Civ 1 or Age of Mythology playthroughs? I played through C&C, Crusader Kings 3, Oxygen Not Included, Two Point Hospital, Theme Hospital, Obduction, Biosys, Stardew Valley, and more. People just don't watch those and I have a feeling you haven't seen all my gameplay either. People keep asking me to do more gameplay but they haven't watched the gameplay I've already done. Meanwhile I make a list video and they get 60K views or even more. 10-20 times the number of people who watch my gameplay. When I have to prioritise, I have to prioritise what people want more.

I think I have watched all your city-building (and some other) gameplays on this channel for the last few years. For some reason, I haven't noticed you started another channel eight months ago. I will definitely watch Stronghold. :) And, please don't get discouraged by me silly comments.

@GamerZakh
@GamerZakh 6 ай бұрын
Generally because I'm kind of burnt out from the last 3 years, but the last 6 months particularly. Also these list videos just get way more views than letsplays. Letsplays as a format kind of died in recent years. Part 1 gets a ton of views and then it always drops sharply through Part 2 and 3, then almost no one watches part 4 onwards. I do however want to get back into the new Caesar 3 campaign and there's always Poseidon. I thought I'd be feeling okay this month but I think I'm more burned out than I thought.

@@epmcgee I discovered early that our memories of games are upscaled. I remember playing FF8 on launch. Took a break then 2 years later played it again and was amazed at how bad it looked. I was sure it had better graphics but it's just from 1999 to 2001 graphics advanced so much that most 90s games looked ancient already. Going from the PS1 to PS2, FF8 to FF10. Remasters don't help either. We start to think StarCraft, Crash Bandicoot, and Tomb Raider actually looked as good as their remasters back in the 90s.

Why is it a common thing to not have demos or only do a limited time demo when no one even knows the game exists I bought it been playing a few hours honestly I think I'm gonna return it it's terrible
@GamerZakh
@GamerZakh 4 ай бұрын
The issue is that making a demo takes work and costs time and money, so the choice to make a demo could blow the budget or delay the release. For a lot of developers they can't spare that. In some cases they estimate a demo will hurt sales, but as there is a return policy essentially every game can be demoed.

Early access games these days are a scam! I have a deal for you... Let me repair your vehicle, and you pay me now, and I'll finish it 3 years later....
@GamerZakh
@GamerZakh Ай бұрын
@@timavera3685 Baldur's Gate 3 was early access. Factorio was early access. Early access games are completely available to see. Users review them, there's videos of the game, outlets review them. If you buy an early access game without knowing what it is, that's on you. The alternative isn't better. Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't 'early access' no. It was just broken and unfinished for years. I think games labelling themselves 'early access' is better because it's honest. They're literally putting a big sign saying "this is not finished". Isn't that good? Rather than lying that it is finished when it isn't?
@timavera3685
@timavera3685 Ай бұрын
@GamerZakh clearly you are biased toward the game devs because you promote their games. What I'm saying is that like 90% of the games these days come out in early access. The devs then rely on the community to help mold the game into what it will eventually become instead of using their creativity to make a game they believe will be good because they tested it. Too many games these days are tested more by the community than the devs, and how does that make sense? Like they develop/program the game, the player helps in development by playing and recommending things, but only the developer gets paid even if the game never gets completed. Clear scam if you ask me. I understand that I don't have to play early access games if I don't like them, but EVERY game seems to be early access anymore. It's just my opinion on the whole thing.
@GamerZakh
@GamerZakh Ай бұрын
@@timavera3685 There are good games and there are bad games, that's what it is and has always been. I'm from the 90s, you want to talk about 'scams'? Boy we got scammed hard in the 90s. I'm just saying, games that 'release', they aren't 'not early access'. No Mans Sky, Cyberpunk, Starfield. Those are early access games but they weren't honest about it. That's the alternative which I think is worse and I view that lack of honesty to be more scammy. That's all. Do you have a reason why you think the way NMS and Cyberpunk 'released' is better than early access? We don't have to agree on which is better, I'm just curious. The morality of early access. Whether the devs use their own creativity or crowdsource it. All that, I'm not talking about that. What a community does is up to them. Skyrim's entire success is based on modding. Countless hours of free labour. We could discuss the ethics and merits of that, but I'm not going to tell people what they should do with their free time. Also me promoting games doesn't mean I'm biased for game devs. I'm a KZbinr, I'm biased towards what the audience wants. My videos are more successful when I create things that people either find useful or entertaining. After making list videos for over 10 years, my priority is satisfying the viewer, not game devs. These videos cater to the viewer, because that's how I get paid. Why would I cater to game devs unless they paid me? And when they do, it's a legal obligation for me to disclose that. In this case, Bellwright paid me, so that section is an ad. I remove a KZbin ad break to compensate the viewer and the rest of the video is uninfluenced by the sponsor.
