Reasons that I decided to start working out: 1. My health and wellbeing, including my mental health. 2. Sticking to a routine, being accountable, having purpose. 3. Definitely to help find a girl. I have been bigger my entire adult life until now. Alot of women won't give you the time of day if you aren't somewhat fit, but It definitely isnt the only thing. I feel you need to look the best version of yourself to get someone in the door, then your personality, sense of humor, attitude, morals, goals, etc are what keeps them there. Also getting in shape, especially for someone who has been overweight most of my life, has boosted my confidernce with women. So while its definitely not top of the list to get fit to find a mate, working on yourself is extremely satisfying and 100% worth it.

I've never been really fat or anything (heaviest was 95kg) but I have had and still suffering from severe depression that ended up with me wasting my 20s being antisocial and regressing mentally eventhough I was very active when I was in high school and in uni. Now, at 30yo, very low in self confidence, I started going to the gym to first and foremost fix my mental state and self confidence. To instil that discipline that I have lost due to depression and regain confidence to "re-enter society". So yup, my reasons are pretty much the same as yours, in that order. With number 3 being kept in the backburner for when I have finally solidified my mental health and regained my social skills. Not thinking about getting a girl right now because I need to fix myself first and love myself first, but that for sure is the big objective.

As someone who studied statistics in college, the method of sampling is pretty important. Diversity, age groups, sexual identity, and many other factors matter when you survey. Perception also matters to certain people. If you got muscles, but not the looks then someone with similar body built with a more attractive look could have a different response.
@lupewalkerx10 күн бұрын
I do agree that the diversity of his population was not great. These responses will vary by age, culture, ethnicity, location etc. In the 90s white people were obsessed with breasts and abs and thought a plump ass was ''fat'', Black people have always treasured a plump ass and shredded, muscularity ... things have changed a bit now but that's anecdotal but an example

One important thing to keep in mind these are verbal responses from participants. there are many who might want to believe that they find arms more attractive or just say they do because they don't think about it much, but when a guy has his shirt off her brain reacts greater to the toned abs. Keep in mind girls see arms more often than not so when they are trying to think of what they often find attractive they might think of arms more often. There is also muscle pairings. So having good arms with big broad shoulders might be more attractive than a buff chest with large traps. Though, on a skinny dude chest alone might be more attractive than biceps alone.

Disagree, you forgot the most important factor, evolution. Women are super attracted to tall guys, big arms, big backs bc of the evolution. They feel super safe with the above. If tall guys, big arms, big bag guys hug girls they fell super safe. The same applies to money, confidence n humor = you secure the family, problem solving, decision making, reliable, the last humor means intelligence. Basically all its by default. Even if they don't know what they want they are attracted to be be evolution default behaviour.

My 2 cents: What women say they like (especially on the spot) -- isn't necessarily going to be correct. In fact, it can be significantly off, when it comes down to it -- although it's never going to be the opposite by any means. Second, when we think about important aspects and such -- comparisons come to mind. If a gal rates a guy's body as an "7" in an environment with lots of guys who work out, she'll feel he's a "10" when she's been immersed in a normal environment of guys of all types. Kind of like saying he or she is 'ugly' -- in reference to what? Their feeling of where they measure on that scale is going to be relevant to the environment we have a sense of to compare to, without consciously thinking about it. "She was ugly," when she's not ugly, but you were talking with her at a club full of hot women, and that whole night walking around downtown with great looking women. Similar to what some people like to point out, where some good looking but not hot gals will like to go out on the town with gal pals not as good looking as they are -- they'll be perceived/felt as better looking. In the end, the attributes you feel you're more attracted to -- unless it's an individual aspect you REALLY are into and always think about -- isn't necessarily going to be correct. Especially when asked on the spot. Which is why we'll find people ranking X, Y, and Z -- but in the end say they actually really like those with Z the most, then X and then Y, etc.

I didn't even know there was a muscle there that could be made bigger through training until I had been doing reverse-grip crossbody curls for awhile and then happened to notice some poppin' there. I think most women will find it attractive even if they don't realize it. A lot of people in the male fashion and fitness and lifestyle online space I've followed are always saying how much women are into forearms. Wear a watch and a nice long sleeved button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to expose the forearms, and apparently women just go crazy over it. I would imagine that having some solid definition in the brachioradialis will only reinforce that.

A small piece of feedback and advice, in case you accept such: I have watched a few videos of yours, back in time. But I am a little strict about using the words 'science' and 'scientific analysis' to prove something to any audience. By referring to a survey as 'scientific analysis' or even using the phrase 'statistically significant,' we always have to refer to the sample more rigorously in an objective scientific manner by including: 1. State the geographical area that the research refers to. Depending on the percentage of our sample to the population, to have plausible results, there is a rule of the area we are conducting research that our sample fulfills as a percentage (mostly a country or just a small specific part of a country). 2. State the age group that we are focusing on, given that we ask only women. 3. The method we use to check the objectivity of the answers we get. 4. Show at least some graphs with descriptive statistics. 5. Show the questionnaire used for the survey. Those are just a few intuitive and spontaneous thoughts that come to my mind as a scientist. I haven't found a reference to that data in your video. If they exist, I would be glad to see a reference on your video and take a look. This way, we objectively demonstrate the basic prerequisites for referring to a 'simple video questioning some people' as 'scientific research.' Also, if you want to correctly use the words 'science' and 'statistically significant,' you should show at least a statistical test, e.g., a chi-square or ANOVA test. Also, we have to refer to how many people refused to answer and the method used to prove that the answers are not influenced by confirmation bias (we show as a result of what we intend to prove, not what was really proved). Otherwise, it looks like you're just imitating scientific research in a non-scientific way, and you use the word "scientific" inappropriately. If I may give some advice, I wouldn't use the words science, scientific, and statistically significant in your case. Just keep it simple because your videos are nice anyway. I hope I helped.

Tall (1.85) and very funny guy here. Losing some weight made all the difference for me. Women loved keeping me around as a friend until I started looking better and being a bit more of a jerk. Height, personality, humour etc are all nice but won't matter as much unless you are physically attractive. P.S: Women after ~32 are a completely different story, physical attraction is way less important to them.

Physical appearance is still attractive to older women. But they just know that after a certain age, they can't be picky. Most older women are desperate for any kind of male attention

Most women aren't all that attracted to body-builder/gym-bro physiques. They prefer the body type that is developed by guys who participate in various athletic activities - strong, supple, balanced and not grotesquely pumped. Train to have more fun/better performance in your activities, not to make yourself look like a cartoon.

In general, what they like is a big solid frame. Hence upper body being the main muscle group. Ones that know about workouts and anatomy will say shoulders, ones who don't will say biceps because they think that is what makes a man look big.

Most women will not consider a man with a great physique a priority and will go over personality but I think that's because most women are lazy when it comes to working out and wouldn't want their man to look better than them. Gentlemen, don't allow this to distract you from continuing to work out and become the best version of yourself.

MANY women I've met have low self esteem, so while they might think a guy looks great, they don't think they're worthy of him, and will let themselves go.
@gymvsCalisthenics4 ай бұрын
I think People are often attracted to abs and chest muscles because they signal physical fitness, strength, and health-traits associated with evolutionary fitness and masculinity. These muscles contribute to a symmetrical and masculine physique, which many find desirable due to both biological and cultural influences.
