Right at the beginning, that sump you looked down, used to be the original way up into those flats, NMCS moved the ladders to the way up today, as it was damaging the ginging on the side near the top.

Ahh, was there something wrong with the shaft used now, as I would have thought that would be the better in the first place, due to the wood in the other?

Pertaining to the calcified ore hopper at the end, approximately when was that hopper last in use? Curious as to the amount of time for the complete calcification. I'm guessing about 150 or more years. What's your thoughts?

I don't have an exact date, but the mine closed in 1900 so older than that.

Think the inscription early in the video was left by a time-travelling evil-terran-universe version of the Galaxy class Enterprises long feared captain, Jean 'Nuke" Picard :-)

The size of the stopes! Part of me watches because my wife's maternal ancestors were miners in the English lakes but by the late 19 th century were in the Co.Durham coalfields possibly via some of the mines you film.
@UKAbandonedMineExploresАй бұрын
Yes, these are pretty large ones. Yes, miners moved where the work was.
