I call this King Pawn Structure Sacrifice. This is an aggressive use of your kings pawn after castling from the start to keep attacking and checking your opponent's king making his Queen useless.

jesus lord almighty, this was literally the best match i have ever seen between these two. It even got my heart racing, Carlini is a magician with the defence, but Dave just knows how to pin the king, they're two completely opposite with their style of play, and is amazing to watch and trying to incorporate them into my own style of play.

Move 34, Carlini tried a street hussle move. He did it on that girl, too. It work on her, but Dave saw the discover check on the King with the bishop. An illegal move, taking that juicy ROOK hxg5, would be a street win and the way they play. Third time watching.

Saw the mate in 3. Also, at 9:08 Instead of Bishop G6 should've moved Knight C8 checking and forcing King to A8 or B8 then capturing the rook with the discovered queen attack that no longer has the Knight in front. Then something like Knight B6 and Queen D8 would've been unavoidable checkmate. Moving the Bishop also cleared A6 for the King. Instead he was too worried about protecting the pawn on H5. Dave sacrificed the world and couldn't sacrifice a pawn.

Awesome game, Dave! Devastating attack. Truly Tal-Like. ps. did everybody see Carlini's weasel move at 8:00 ? He set up his bishop so that he could do a useless pawn move next turn, putting Dave in check, without announcing it. Hoping to win a lost game using the "I can take your king" rule. I must admit, I would have fallen for it in a game. But Dave saw it immediately, and reacted with mock fear "oooh!"

2:33 knight sac on the pawn would’ve been a better move but instead he got his pawns trapped by a solid knight and he can’t move his knight out of the back easily. 3:38 he should’ve taken the pawn with the other knight for a beautiful fork forcing the knight to take the knight and then the rook to take the bishop at best for white. Any other moves would’ve been bad for white.

I wouldn't call what they were doing as "trash talk." Their mouths were on auto-pilot saying a whole bunch of nothing. Trash Talk is a dis-arming tool for distraction, confusion or imtimidation. Yadda yadda yadda conveys more substance than their verbal interactions.
