Yea, Hohenschwangau! It's awesome. Hohenzollern would be awesome too. I wonder if I saw the castle in Portugal. Neuschwanstein is how it's pronounced.

Never have I EVER heard anyone call Neuschwanstein Castle "New Swanstone Castle". Strange that the only castles from Scotland shown were ruins when there are so many beautiful active castles in Scotland, like Dunrobin or Skibo.

I instantly recognized Neuschwanstein, but the label of "New Swanstone" puzzled me for a moment. I figured it out pretty quickly, but I'd never heard it labelled that before. Duh. Other than that, the music started out so beautifully, but got a bit too exuberant about 3/4 of the way through. Some of these castles are breathtaking, some were garish (Pena Palace), and some aren't what I would consider castles at all (eg. Chateau de Chambord). I loved the setting of Bled Castle, in the forest with snow-covered mountain peaks in the background. It gave me castle envy.

Mont Saint Michel is an abbey, not a castle.

Well in exchange, he didn't mention most of the good castles in France (Koenigsbourg castle, Pierrefonds castle...). Instead he put 2 palaces and one abbey, though all amazing places.
@seewhaticando38854 жыл бұрын
you need a history lesson.. Positioned on the border between Normandy and Brittany, Mont-Saint-Michel was both a place of passage and a FORTRESS (AKA CASTLE when elite live in them) for the Duchy of Normandy. From the 14th century onwards, the successive conflicts of the Hundred Years War between France and England required new, powerful fortifications to be erected.

@@tothbenedek2028 Romanians don't come from India... Moldovans are genetically slav, wallachians or vlahs are genetically balkan, doborgea is greek and Transylvanians or ardeleni are genetically germanic. All castles in Transylvania, as well as cities, were built by Saxons... that Includes Bran Castle and Corvin Castle, Peles castle was buil by the King of Romania so idk why you claim that, it's not even in Transylvania but at he border.

It was fortified though, as opposed to most of the so-called "castles" (=palaces actually) in this video. And it's also the model for many castles in the pop culture. It deserves to be in the list imho, or at the very least more than the 17th-19th centuries palaces in this video.

@A Melvin YOU ARE JUST A LIAR . The castle was build by Germans named "Transylvanian Saxons", nowadays the castle owner is Dominic von Habsburg. Even on google if you search you will see: "In 1212, Teutonic Knights built the wooden castle of Dietrichstein as a fortified position in the Burzenland at the entrance to a mountain pass through which traders had travelled for more than a millennium, but in 1242 it was destroyed by the Mongols. The first documented mentioning of Bran Castle is the act issued by Louis I of Hungary on 19 November 1377, giving the (Transylvanian) Saxons of Kronstadt (Brașov) the privilege to build the stone castle on their own expense and labor force; the settlement of Bran began to develop nearby."
