@Shmoob Thank you. I know. That's the nicest brookie I've caught in 34 years. Obviously, now I have try to do it again but with some way to measure it. Just bought a new net to measure it as they are in the bag. Next year will try again!

My brothers and I have had some wonderful times tracking down brookies in a very small Western UP tributary-wow...that was almost 50 years ago. A brother retuned last summer-they're still there! Several of us are going back this summer! We caught a bunch of them in the 12-14 inch range!
@HaightsWanderings2 жыл бұрын
That's so cool. I'd love to have experienced the UP back then!

@@HaightsWanderings I will add that in September of 2020 a brother and I hiked back into a very secluded little brook trout lake in the Boundary Waters and caught 15 to 20 inch brook trout-hand over fist for two days...30 to 40 of them! (The path was not well-worn and there was nobody else on the lake in the two days we were there.) My brother fly fished and I used salted minnows. My brother declares brook trout to be "Our family fish".

Stomped around quite a bit up there between grouse hunting and fly fishing for trout and ice fishing. Some of the smallest tributaries held some decent size brookies or browns. It was hard to cross any bridge without pulling over and checking the water. Finally got over that affliction. Well, you are really never completely cured.

Loved it as usual, you should add one of those most beautiful fish in the world to your intro ( not that you should change it) I’m just saying
@HaightsWanderings3 жыл бұрын
@Brook Trout 1 I was thinking the same thing. I feel that the shot of the big brookie plopping into the water and swimming off is going to join the intro. Maybe I should make a trout version of my intro and also a musky / smallie version. I don't know
@brooktrout14773 жыл бұрын
@@HaightsWanderings I don’t know either, your intro is one of my favorites, but I’m a little impartial to the brookie, keep up the good work
