Unfortunately VR is still a very niche market. When Nintendo seriously adopts VR (not talking about their Virtua Boy or that cardboard experiment - Labo) that would be a clue that VR is hitting the mainstream. When they make a VR Zelda or Mario game for the masses. Until then, VR is gonna be nich af.

Streaming is going to be really immersive in next few years. I develop in unreal engine and i do a lot of coding stuff too (did also AI npcs etc.) and I gotta say, future looks bright! We just need VR hardware to catch up so it can run those stunning environments lol
@1019192711 ай бұрын
Just with current VR sets they don’t have the power without either burning the user to a crisp or a chip set advanced enough to run something like UE5 or beyond. It’s getting better, but it’ll probably be a few years before we really see any major next level advancement of VR, the tech is still working out the kinks as I see it.

Huh, so it is possible to do some form of motion capture from home. I wonder just how creative can you get with something like that. Like right now- i'm picturing using a treadmill to make walk, crouch walking and running animations, using the walls in the house to make animations for taking cover, peeking out of it, etc. There's some serious potential in tech like that. And the possibilities are vast.

However i still havent been able to find much on rendering characters well inside of unreal engine. Nothing i have found so far has been able to really help me make them look good

I'd love it if we had a world where every one of us could have such a good looking, realistic avatar where anyone, including famous people, from sports, e-sports, Vtubing, or many others, could just go and hang out and interact and talk with one another. Fan, to fan favorite in virtual reality. To go on adventures together, and do whatever else you wanted to do. Or have a movie theater people can all hang out in to watch their fav series or film. Or have invitation only rooms/homes that Vtubers can invite over to their virtual crib and have a small group movie watch along. And Code Miko, being the dictator she is, could oversee his kingdom and expell people who act up with the click of a button.

It's kinda scary to think that AI is just about good enough to have actual conversations now. That paired with UE5 and VR would be mindblowing. I've seen some Skyrim VR with the chatgpt but imagine living in it. Maybe it's a little too close to being the Matrix and will cause people to not care about RL.

Fuck.. it’s hard to deny sometimes that AI is better than life.. at least when used by a human or conscious consciousness… Just looking and listening how happy this girl is in her created environment is touching ( I really doubt she’s acting it seems very genuine) I want life to be like this.. no hunger no physical pain, no forced jobs.. the freedom to create and explore… God has a lot to learn from AI, this material reality seemed to be created to suffer.. yet I have hope, I have hope.. I believe we can raise our consciousness to a level where we understand This All is a simulation and become free or masters of it.. every bit of effort in that direction works fine
