The Most Beautiful Hike in Washington State Colchuck Lake

Colchuck Lake is highly regarded as one of the most beautiful places in all of Washington. We have traveled throughout Washington State and we believe it could be the most beautiful hike in Washington. Colchuck Lake is not easy at all but it is worth the strain once you get to the top. Make sure you bring lots of water and food if you need it. Colchuck Lake is multiple thousand feet elevation gain and is almost 9 miles round trip. You can camp at the top but you need to get the registration through a lottery system. We really believe this could be the most beautiful hike in all of Washington! What month did you guys go to this lake? Staying in Seattle in late June for a week and want to hike this beautiful place! Any other lakes or hiking places to go would be most appreciated!

We went in July! No snow at that time. I think you should be good for June maybe just have good hiking shoes. Parts were very wet even in the middle of summer. Feel free to hit us up on instagram and we can give more spots we love in the surrounding area!

It’s 9 miles total in and out. We stayed in Leavenworth so we could get to the trailhead early because the parking lot fills up pretty fast.
