2 of my Russian friends are also joining my tour of the most beautiful Moscow Metro in the world. The Moscow Metro is considered the most beautiful metro system not only in Russia but also in the world.
What are the places to visit in Moscow? I will make a themed Moscow travel guide for you on this trip.
Sponsored by Fatih Koparan Just English Language Schools (www.justenglishtr.com) #Moscow is in Russia!
The name of the first metro stop is theatricalna and Lenina because there is a theater nearby, and the entire metro system is named after the leader of the Russian Revolution, Vladimir Lenin. They named the subway in honor of Lenin. The Russians used to say, "Wherever we go, Lenin is with us". The Moscow Metro was built in 1938. It took 3 years to build. From here we go to the October Revolution stop.
Many parts of the Moscow Metro still seem to be from the Soviet Union era. Russians touch the statues from the Soviet Union in the subway and believe that these statues will bring luck.
All of the marbles in the subway were brought to Moscow before World War II and a lot of money was spent.
The Moscow Metro was used as a shelter from the bombardment of Nazi planes in World War II.
When the Germans occupied Moscow on June 22, 1941, there were about 50,000 people in these bunkers. During World War II, the metro stations in Moscow were also used for different purposes. For example, one of them was used as a library, the other as a delivery room. Muscovites did not give up their social life during the war. Mayakovska Station was also used for concerts.
Kulturi Metro Station is like an underground palace. There is a giant dome at the station.
This station is made of rare yellow green marbles and has an inscription by Maxim Gorky.
From here we go to the Kievskaya metro station. Some of the names on the Moscow Metro are the names of states within the Soviet Union. Like Ukraine, Belarus.
Kievskaya takes its name from the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. In this station there is a picture of Lenin and an article about the brotherhood of Russia and Ukraine.
He says that Russian-Ukrainian relations will never deteriorate.
The Kievskaya Metro with its mosaic paintings is like a work of art.
From here we go to Belorusskaya station made for Belarus. Made for Belarus and the station is all white.
Although Belarusians speak a language called Belarusian, like Ukrainian, they prefer to speak Russian.
In this station there are statues of White Russian soldiers who showed heroism against the Nazi armies in World War II.
Next is Mayakovskaya Station, the deepest station of the Moscow Metro. They say this is the most beautiful station of the Moscow Metro. In 1938, this place received the award for the most beautiful subway in the world in New York.
I want to leave Moscow by train and go to Vladivostok by Siberian Express. Russia is the largest country in the world and borders many countries from North Korea to Norway.
We say goodbye to the Marxistskaya metro station, named after Karl Marx. I hope you enjoyed the Moscow Metro, which is considered the most beautiful in the world. From Russia with love.
