An excellent recording. After listening to this Kalyani Masterpiece we can visualize as to why he was a Titan. The short Raaga essay with trademark Aharams and ending with the flourish and flash would definitely leave a mark on the listener who would have demanded that the Maestro could have extended the Raaga delineation. The masterly rendition of the Composition of the Saint and the imaginative Swaras were to say the least simply brilliant. An inspired TNK's faithful to the tee following and not to forget Mani Iyervaal's mrindangam left us speechless. My late Father would often tell me that Maestros such as MMI, GNB Sir, MLV Amma , in many ways took inspiration from the Titan. Thanks very much.

I would love to hear this recording several times purely for the sake of Mani iyer. My perspective, of course. He intuitively seems to know in advance what would follow from the vocalist and the violinist who are titans themselves

Brilliant.. this is arranged, recorded, edited and played in srI vaikuNTham and broadcast on earth through this mahAn and the supremely talented accompanists. The opening phrase of alapana itself is a winner.. if we notice, it is த நி ரி கா.. theoretically, no diff between sbharaNam and kalyANi with those notes. But, the musical gene in iyengArvAL gives it the perfect kalyANi stamp. He was, is ans will be known for the subtle shake he gave to the svaras and touched a fraction low or high for certain notes to bring out the beauty and flavor of a rAgam. The God of anuswarams 🙏
