Great story. Kudos to perot museum for saving the nuggets. Everything looks beautifully presented. For those interested the biggest mass of gold ever found was the Holterman nugget (even though it was't really a nugget) found at Hill End Australia in the 1870's.

When I look at these exceptional specimens I try to imagine the journey they took through space to get to their final resting place. I also try to imagine their formation inside a star, in the final moments of that star's existence, before the star exploded and spewed into space these gold nuggets, whereupon, after millions and millions of years, they coalesced into the proto-earth. Who could have imagined the unlikely, almost unimaginable journey they took to get here.

I was amazed at how "small" the 5-ounce button looked as compared to x5, 1-ounce coins. Did I understand that correctly? And indeed, stunning. You can almost see a wee dragon's head on King Henry poking out the left side ... as though you're looking at one from under the left side of its neck - but of course, it can always just be the lighting. Loads of fun this one. Thank you.

That is at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. Largest gold nugget. If you find one somewhere else, then that rock is fake. Iron Pirate!!!
