Hey Gaz and Fendi 😍 As a lone female walker the fear/anxiety of just thinking I might encounter a strange man in the wilderness has actually stopped me going out. I have learned to trust my gut feelings so if I do feel like that when I’m getting ready to go for a walk I listen and change my plans or go somewhere I know there will be more people around. I can’t fully explain why I have this anxiety. I don’t have it all the time, a lot of the time I feel confident and mentally strong which like you said helps massively. I think true crime documentaries have a part to play 🤦‍♀️ but then again awful things do happen to people and I don’t ever want to be in that situation if I can help it. Thank you for talking about this subject - keep doing what you’re doing mate your content is fantastic you’re a very down to earth and relatable guy and I love watching you and Fendi xx

It's sad that you feel that way. What are these 'awful things (that) happen' that you mention? That sounds like an irrational fear to me although I don't know where you live so maybe it isn't. It seems strange that you have this anxiety about coming across men. If you are watching true crime then you are definitely going to have a warped perspective. Keep hiking and I hope your fears lessen over time. Take care😊

When I go walking I'm usually alone and I'm wary of lone men. I smile and say morning or hello and walk on. If I met you Gaz I'd say Ay Up! You know what they say about bears, if it's black fight back, if its brown lie down and if its white good night 😂

All that scares me when camping mate is people I don’t fear animals I know there isn’t much predators in England but I’d be more worried about coming across a person wondering about at night that would spook me but it’s a good job I take my German shepherd because he lets me know if I need to be worried 😂

Great video Gaz, I absolutely love all the walking options around Hebden Bridge and I agree, the section along Hebden Water to Gibson Mill is stunning. Hardcastle Crags is definately worth a walk to the summit just beyond the mill on the same side of the river. At the start of the video when you described were you were heading, i had it in my mind you'd have ended up at Lumb Hole waterfalls. Another absolutely stunning spot. and on a great circular walk from were you parked at Mideghole. Fair play to Fendy, some of them steps were twice as high her legs. 😃🐕

I’ve had a handful of experiences with men in my time where I’ve had my drink spiked, etc. I’ve been pinned by two blokes who offered to walk me home. There are countless other situations I could talk about. I still think well of most men. Most men I know and I’m friends with are gentlemen and would never cross a line. I’m defo not a “man hater”. I have more male friends than female. Always have. Keep up the good content, mate.

I have a bush dessert idea for you that I learned in the army. Crumble up some sweet biscuits into the bottom of a canteen. Add canned cheese and sweetened condensed milk then cook over a fire. Set it aside till it cools and sets. Voila, ration pack cheesecake.

Love it down the crags. I really miss it now I am living in Scotland. But I will be back in July. We are going to be stopping up at Heptonstall for a week. I will definitely visit the " woodland glade" and having a sit in the hobbit tree😁. Great video Gaz 👍👍

I did the full walk round right to the top on the right hand side then across the road bridge .I then walked across the cliff of hell to the beautiful woodland meadow where I stopped like yourself for a break .I went about 3pm in the afternoon on a gorgeous sunny Saturday. Nobody there. The views from the top are beautiful I took a few pictures .If anyone lives a short drive and want to get fit then this walk 2-3 times a week would benefit them. That walk is gorgeous, especially on a beautiful day. It sucks at the end of your beautiful hike you came back to damage to your car. It looked like it was scraped right down to the metal. Hi Gaz and adorable Fenzie. What a beautiful place. We have in Netherland beautiful places too. We I live are beautiful parks. In the Netherlands we have some places are so dangers. That is you walk as a woman alone in the dark. The police stops and warning you. Sometimes they bring you home. Not all go after the weak ones. Some really don't like intelligence women. They get really angry. I have much conference. but trust me I can't tell how many times I get arrestment more then my 10 fingers and ten toos. Not only men, sommen can be bad too. There are some really nice walks where I live. We have the coastal section of the Cleveland way right on my doorstep and also the North York Moors. Saltburn to Whitby along the clifftops is epic.
