I absolutely love the tiled entranceway. It’s gorgeous. And the music is so fitting…the new threshold to your home, was accompanied by Pachelbel's Canon in D, and is often played when the bride walks to the altar. The sense of anticipation and the promise of what’s to come…Ashley you and Doug are introducing and announcing that the best is yet to come. I love it… it’s beautiful. Well done you two!!

I totally love those tiles. Perfect for an older house. Almost Art Nouveau in style, but they have a slightly modern twist with the colours. You're right, it is beautiful.

Astonishingly gorgeous tiles! In love! As a little friendly suggestion out of personal experience in doing something similar (ie tile then wood floor) I suggest you put a scrap board at the end of the tiles as then tend to be a bit fragile at the border even if solidly stuck to the ground. This until you put your wood floor down. It’s dreamy… excellent job guys!

We used the grout that has sealer in it when we remodeled our master bath 6-8 years ago. The grout has held up thru the years. I think your choice of grout was a Good one. It was for us and we wish we had used it in the kitchen/dining room.

In case it hasn't been mentioned; I reccomend using a temporary transition molding along the edge of the end tiles, until your other flooring is installed. It will protect the edge from chipping. I had a similar experience, and had to replace a few tiles. Absolutely love this design choice/instillation!! 🌞

My hubby is a perfectionist. I finally came up with a phrase to help him "let it go" when a project isn't up to his standards, but is still good. "Pretend it was this way when we bought the house", as if the previous owner was the one who did it. It worked! LOL! It actually helped us move onto other projects without him obsessing over his mess-ups. (Honestly, he really likes the phrase, now!) LOVE the area rug look of the tile! :D

WOW, I love it!! Looks like a rug. I love watching your videos, gives me ideas for my house. You should be able to get triple what you paid for the property, maybe more. My only suggestion is, knee pads. I had jobs that required me to do squats and crawling. I didn't use them, but Now that I'm older. I'm paying for it. I now get injections in my knees, just to be able to get around. I sure wished that I had used them! I would hate it if your knees ended up like mine. Looking forward to many more videos.

Kay, I too regret working as hard as I did when I was young. I worked in an automotive parts warehouse and was constantly lifting way too much to be a girl but I didn’t want the sympathy of others thinking I’m weak. I also got hay in from the field for our horses and lifted 70 lb. bales from the field then into the barn. Now at 65 my body is paying the price.

It is absolutely beautiful! My eyes got watery cuz I could just think of Ashley looking at her beautiful tile. When you were saying different things about the gaps you sound like my son. He did herringbone design in tile around their fireplace. To anybody who looks at it is beautiful and perfect. But because he is the one that did it he knows all the little things that he would have done different. Like a seamstress I have sown for many many years and even though something can look perfect I can tell where I did some little thing different or like needlework. It's the Craftsman or the artist at work that knows it but anybody else would just see beautiful. Doug and Ashley I was amazed at all your other things you've done I think this one is taking you to another beautiful level. You never cease to amaze me what the two of you do. All I can say is great job and it is beautiful and don't listen to anybody that comes against you. Those people that many times say anything against you they're not the ones doing the work or the ones budgeting and paying for it. So I just want to say you have one huge cheerleader here. I don't always comment because I'm watching on my TV but I want to tell you I haven't missed one yet. Having so much fun watching all the different things you are doing I hope your family gets a chance to watch. I know you're pretty private people but I hope your relatives are watching what you're doing and are excited for you as well. I just want to say I also love the teaching spirit in both of you.

Using the tile spacers to "clean" the grout lines worked well and saved time going back like I have seen others do! Working smarter not harder! Hura Hurrah!!!!!

The tile is absolutely beautiful. It looks like you've laid a rug. I love the colors. I wouldn't worry about slight imperfections. The grout will eliminate those. I've seen Professional masons do far worse. This is another winner. Great job!!

Doug, I owned a manufactured home which is pier and beam ( as you once owned). I am surprised you didn’t use cement board to give stability to the adhesive. It will help with the floor shifting. Over all your floor looks absolutely beautiful. Love your videos as it is always refreshing to see what you and your wife will tackle next.

I did this once - put the tile down before the walls and ceiling. Dropped a monkeys paw out of my belt. Broke a tile. Talk about sick. You might want to cover the tile with some thin osb temporarily when you do the rest. Great tile job, btw.
