Sure it is. Lets see, I saw thig game first online (live), then I saw at Daniel Kings, then at Schaaksite a dutch chess site, then in the dutch newpapers. at this point you`re even behind the newspapers. Why not do Ragger - Maze from the Austria - France match. Its not that important and it is not played by Jobava bbut it was a great game, and not coverd bij almost every chess outlet.

Nothing fantastic here, baadur played like a fish and was almoust lost after 13 moves but black wasn't carefull and allowed that silly hook Nf5 in the kingside

IT was only because of carelessnes, black was already clearly better on the queenside and should slowly win but he didn't pay any attention to Nf5!! and was psychologically lost after that. Of course it must be hard for black to play on because he knows that god damn, I allowed this ridiculous hook .

Brilliant Bishop move. I once managed a similar sacrifice of a Knight on h6. Not in the same league as Jobava tho. Just to mention that when I played the move my opponent just went into shock (he slumped at the board just looking at the Knight with his mouth open. It was with check and the complications were so mind boggling he took it but was then mated in short order). Few expect such moves when a piece can land on an empty square because they just consider it impossible. Thanks for posting such a gem.

Current Jobava classical rating: 2587. He might not be a genius. Enjoyable video nonetheless.

Jobava is undoubtedly a lot of fun but one wonders if his anti-conventionalism hasn't hurt him over the last 8 years. After all his rating has dropped 170 points in that time. Elite GMs, once they get over the shock of playing against stuff like Jobava's London System, analyze it and then come prepared. Jobava's London System, in fact, gives black more pawn breaks than white. It no longer grants white a shock-induced edge. He was a 2734 in 2012 and now he's barely above 2600. I love attacking chess but Jobava is neither a Tal nor an Alekhine nor a Kasparov. Elites have caught on to his anti-positional gimmicks.

IT seems so funny to develop the knigth on c3, whole opening d4,Bf4 and Nc3?! will make sure you dont get anything from the opening,It is quite amazing to see that black actually loses that game because after 7 moves black already has great game and surely is at least equal. After13 moves black is already clearly better because of white horrible play. Knight is ridiculous on c3 lol and the whole white queenside is beyond repair. And still some people thinks wow what a great game. White won from inferior position after black allowed those stupid hooks
