You can abuse that too by r cliking enemy heroes as creeps wont attack you in those 3 sec.

added info regarding portraits: not agro related, but in case you dont know, you can target allie portraits to cast friendly spells. Can be relevant as eg. Oracle, dazzle using glimmer cape, forcestaff etc. when a cluster is making targeting difficult.

I’m only 6500 mmr but this is one of those things that got me out of legend rank. There is 2 really good ways and both should be used for maximum harassment without griefing the lane equilibrium. 1 if you press to attack an enemy from fog of war(in trees) it doesn’t matter how close you are to them you will not aggro them 2.play to the right or left of the lane instead of the back of it and start learning the exact range of the creeps aggro range

Also side note you can find out if your enemy has vision using the first trick (if the creeps get aggro to you when you are supposed to be in fog of war it means you aren’t in fog of war and the enemy has vision in the area :)

Additional tip: You can abuse the aggro cooldown when using ranged heroes to harass your enemies. Simply attack enemies outside creep aggro then let your character follow the enemy and land the 1 or 2 auto attacks before de-aggroing your enemies. It will keep the lane stable while you're harassing the enemy and to keep yourself from taking creep damage. Also, some auto-cast spells don't trigger creep aggro when you manually target enemies such as Drow Q, Viper Q, OD Q, etc. BTW, great content man. Keep it up!

I remember having trouble with portrait agro method, at first I thought that I was doing something wrong then I tested it in lobby. Turned out that problem was with fast attack setting (attack upon pressing A without using mouse clicking), when it was turned on creeps just wouldn't agro from portraits. Valve already fixed it, but its too late now for me since I'm used to manually moving camera around the map for it, xD

Question: When you agro creeps, do creeps first finish ongoing attack animation or they stop the attack (like when you issue a stop command on hero) and start chasing you as soon as you draw their agro?

fck. didnt realize that you can attack the hero portrait hahaha. big thanks to this video. whenever i play axe and want to clear the wave fast, i dont want to use berserker call to aggro the creeps because of mana problems(before geting shroud). I usually click on the other side of the map with an enemy hero and attack him so the creeps will aggro me. Now i know i can just attack the portrait haha. Its easier and less work to do

@@ronvincentdaano7062 hey bro, that's because you probably accidentally issued an attack command or right clicked on an enemy hero while being outside of 500 aggro range, putting it on a 3 seconds cooldown window where you cannot aggro again for 3 seconds

Question about offlane: Is it more important to farm your self or deny enemy carry farm? I find if I pull creep aggro and the enemy does as well, the creep wave gets pulled apart and I can't harass as a melee position 3. thanks.

If you can trade favorably then your job would be to prevent the enemy from pulling aggro away from you. If you are weaker then you would want to pull aggro away to avoid the enemy.
