The show did him dirty. I think the main reason why godspeed was so looked down on, was because of his non-existent relation to barry. All of the other villains were true enemies of barry, killing his loved ones, or atleast trying to. If the show introduced august as a close friend of barry in the early seasons, and slowly showed him turn evil, he would of been a much greater villain, because we would have known him and had connections to him.

He couldn’t if he tried. Reverse Flash is a paradox. He exists in multiple points on the timeline, and he always will unless his anchor (his hatred of Barry) is removed. Anytime you kill him, he exists in another point in time and can travel back to the present. That’s why even Dr. Manhattan couldn’t kill him, even when targeting the paradoxes. There’s just too many of him.
