The reason the Pats may be moving on from Belichick is because he is not what they need right now. The reason they were so good for so long is because they had Tom Brady at QB and a brilliant defensive mind at HC. Belichick has made it abundantly clear that he can not run an offense without a future HOFer at the quarterback position. The Pats need development on offense, and Belichick is incapable of providing that.

The reason why Belichick is in discussion is that he is also the GM and in the last 5 years of drafting he has done a horrendous job and his recent coaching hires especially on the offensive side have been terrible. You can’t just look at it like it’s just from his teams being bad because he has full control of the roster. He drafted, traded, and signed for every single player and they are terrible.
