on the Q9 hand, most do not check the turn with a hand like jacks or queens b/c of the draws out there....also your 9 does matter b/c you are blocking some bluffing hands. A4 aces or kings are the only hands you can't beat

Novice question here. When putting these vlogs together, obviously hindsight can help flesh out anyalsis, how much of the thought process you are so great at articulating matches up with your thinking on each of these hands in real time? Are you going through the same in depth consideration when at the table?

Raise turn is better on AJ three of a kind hand. You raise to 600 and get called by A8 which is +500 on the stret. Then stacks in on river. Vs the extra 150 and only get extra value with Q river but then you chop so you come out behind vs raised turn

any overpair would bet the turn on Qh Js 4h 7d.......what hand does he arrive at the river that beats you after checking the turn? His bluffs continue to bluff the turn (you don't block flush draws either), and his value will be bet on the turn to charge for your hypothetical draws or top pair. His line doesn't make any sense and there are more bluffs than value on the river. call call call

ok wolfgang lets review the jd's ace-king hand. calling here at the end is tough really tough? but lets go back to hands in your life where you called a river bet with ace high. why did you that? because more times than not it just doesn't make sense! and what are we taught? if it doesn't make sense we should call. when he checks the turn, what hand do you put him on? i would have put him on a hand like ace-king non hearts, pocket tens, ace-queen, or something where he is utilizing pot control. a hand like pocket aces or pocket kings should be betting the turn and not allow the flush or straight draws to see a card for free. having said that, i think i would of been more afraid of a two-thirds bet on the river oppose to this jam. that bet would tell me he has at least ace-queen or better and depending on the size of that bet if decide to call or not. i think he was putting u on a one pair hand only so his only play to win the pot is to shove. sometimes we hate calling with mediocore hands but then why play them? i would have thought for about two minutes and call this bet because if he is trying to get max value for a good hand, then why is he betting me out of the pot? he knows u r good enough to fold a one pair hand. now if i had a the nuts and were playing a fish and i thought he had a one pair hand, i would shove here. of course HE would think i was bluffing. so asking yourself what you think your opponent thinks you have is just as important as what you think he has.

Actually i think you had been missing out on quite a few value bets, checking with best hand isnt usually the best thing Also, what i have learned is that when value betting , you wanna bet roughly 70% of the pot when you have the nuts as you often will get called as it is both a value bet and a bluff bet, its about 50% of being called and its better for when you are bluffing too, rather than the 30% value bets you put in as those are called a bit more often but bluffs will be easily called too as they are easier to reqognise But thats how i play, other than that, hate to see that last hand, unfortunate Edit: i also think you should have called the all in the guy made when yku had Q9 as in my eyes the check was a clear sign he prolly had AJ or AK of hearts, or any AK hands as he would have value betted 100% of the times , i dont see a situation where A4 comes that far I also think you should bet more when you think you have the best hand as you have to controle your own pots(thats what i believe) Would love to hear your thoughts on it

@jimmyyates9520 Жыл бұрын
ok wolfgang, why did you call on the river when he had the nuts? you said in your analysis that maybe he had a hand like ace-five or something like that. wolf, that hand beats jack ten!! one important variable in becoming a top notch pro is to assess the players at your table accurately. in how kenny was playing up to this point,, had he ever bet the river with bottom pair or bluffed? also, look at his posture. he leaned forward and is engaged with this bet. he looks like someone ready to do battle. this is a tell that screams strength!!!!! finally, his bet looks like a value bet. now if u had two pair here then forget everything for the most part that i just said because a call is required. if i were u in this spot and seeing that he led out into me on the river, something i havent seen him do before, i would put him on at least an ace or two pair holding. giving this player type as someone who almost never bluffs, i would fold here. sucks but to be the best, you have to be disipline and make these tough descions.
