Surely talksport can get two people who've actually boxed to talk about boxing?

Adam Catteral as a boxing pundit is easily one of the best in the business. Gareth A Davies is just an absolute twat

Aye, but usually they have Spence talking some utter mince 😆🥊

Emmanuel Stewart, Hearney Snr, Cus Damato, Adam Booth never boxed. I wonder if your point makes sense to you................

Nahhh. The AJ ko of Nganou was a lot more vicious than Dubious KO of AJ by a mile! The only thing is Nganou was on the level of a pro boxer.

Aj koed a guy fury didn’t even train for and people trying to make a big deal of it. The world stopped when Dubois smashed aj. And I was one of the very few who kept saying ajs done Dubois gonna ko him round 8 didn’t expect it earlier 😂
@jamesprynne14224 күн бұрын
I would argue however wardley smashing Clarke the way he did was the most brutal of the year. Dented his head man
@TheGreatest19744 күн бұрын
@@jamesprynne1422I was championing Dubois too. After watching and studying the miller and Hergovic fights I was convinced Daniel would ko AJ.

I mean fury trained just not as much as he should have, in the press conference a month before fighting ngannou he literally took off his top and showed how big his belly was and wad flexing it

The Dubois ko of AJ is the best ko of the year by far. Dubois was FACING the man who destroyed Ngannou like he did. But Ngannou wasn’t even a boxer. He was having his 2nd pro fight with no amateur boxing experience.

AJ KO of Ngannou was the KO of the year - absolutely brutal - like watching an execution.
@thetruesquad50592 күн бұрын
Aj was not "brilliantly surviving" against dubois, hands down the whole fight, bad defensive awareness, not trying to hold dubois or keep dubois away with a stiff jab or anything like that

Joshua……..brilliantly surviving. 😂

Ngannou ko shouldn't count as a boxing KO.

The Nagana AJ one was one of the ugliest of them all. AJ had to do it 3X and the worst part is Nagano wasn't right after the first knockdown but AJ was incapable of ending it. Nagano still wasn't right into the 2nd round and was dropped and got up again but was absolutely NOT good, actually it's really sickening to watch because he was a 'Free Target'. Nagano was defenseless and propped up so AJ could sneer and get a free 'KO Highight reel' shot that makes it look like he has 1-punch exciting KO power. It's not something to boast about for boxing's sake.

Do you think it should have been stopped after the first knockdown then?
@theasianjaywalker44555 күн бұрын
@@MrLaurenceRobert 2nd (well 1st of that round) Unfortunately, he was so defenseless that AJ got to take his time and a 'punching bag tester' shot on Naganos head. Which was the ugly thing. that was gross. he only needed to bang and batter him and the referee would have just stopped it. That's not something boxing should want to brag about too much.
@MrLaurenceRobert5 күн бұрын
@@theasianjaywalker4455 if the ref had stopped it then and there, then it still would have been a one punch knockout. He dropped him with one punch each time. I've seen AJ critised for many things on here but this might be the first time I've seen him critised for lacking power 😂. If Ngannou was completely out on his feet after that second knockdown, then it's a failure of the referee for not stopping the fight. But the referee assessed Ngannou, he had his hands up, he said he could continue. You can't expect AJ to take it easy on ngannou just because ngannou was still stunned (do you remember that Povetkin free punch against David Price?) But I agree with you that it was a bad knockout to watch over and over again, I was worried for Ngannou, and glad he was OK eventually
@theasianjaywalker44555 күн бұрын
@@MrLaurenceRobert It would have been a TKO. Yes, its funny you rarely hear of AJs lack of power. I mean he has power but it's in the form of thudding combinations of punches but not that 1-punch knockout power. As for expectations, no I would not expect the guy who picked fights with small and older men and threw belts out the ring to hold back BUT he'd have come across as a much more respectable sportsman if he had just jarred him until the ref stopped it. (i have no idea what Povetkin has to do with any of this, I didn't see him or David Price in that ring). btw I don't actually get off on 'Karma!' talk but coincidentally he found himself absolutely stunned and easily KOed the next fight. Now he's the highlight reel KO of the year.

Everyone is allowed their opinion on Parker beating Dubois. It seems to be a bandwagon EVERYONE has jumped on that Parker is too good for Dubois. NEVER. Parker can never be as good as Dubois. AJ pummelled Parker for 12 rounds. A peak Parker. Dillian whyte decked him and beat him, In comparison to a SHOT wilder and an ancient Zhang who decked Parker TWICE apparently by accident. Zhang was so shocked that Parker had suddenly went over that he forgot to try and finish him off. Dubois will destroy him. Mark my words. Don’t jump on the bandwagons.
