Glad youre back and healing up Daniel and thanks for that awesome review. We will take some excellent feedback from this one for sure. Looking forward to discussing it with the team tonight. And perhaps I should stay in my lane and watch my words, its the most comfortable board I'VE ever ridden,lol Im 54 though, I need the suspension more than most,lol Im glad we could provide something a little different for you guys to play with. I know you ride so many boards in a year that you dont get to ride many multiple times but the more you ride these the better they get. There is a 50-100 mile break in period in which the steering softens more but we are aware its still not enough and have solutions coming soon. Thanks again for being so thorough and giving the riders a great idea of what to expect. Ride hard, ride safe, RIDE PROPEL!

Sorry to hear Daniel! I hope you have a swift recovery dude. I have a quick question regarding your editing and filming, I can see you're using ain insta360, do you edit the footage inside adobe premier pro using the insta 360 addon, or frame the shot using the insta360 app first then export that into a video editor? I am an avid eskater whos recently purchased the insta360 and I can't figure out the simplest way to bridge this gap between shooting film and the final product. As always keep up the great high quality work and thank you for steering me towards buying a Meepo Hurricane, amazing board which I highly reccommend!

47 here. I did not skateboard as a kid (other than playing around); I was more into roller skating, though I loved watching the skate videos. I tried my cousin's eboard a few years ago (an eGlide at the time, with the cord attached!) and, after a few rides and a few more F-bombs, I was hooked. I ordered a Backfire Zealot, have had a few spills, but more so I have had immense fun! Cloudwheels make a big difference, lol. I would love a board with pneumatics in the future, but my little Zealot is great! I'm lighter than the guys (I'm a girl) in my group, so depending on how fast (and hilly) we go, I can get a decent range on one charge. I love it so much.

The reason why most skateboards don't use a latching on/off button like that is because if the button fails (mechanically, or wire failure), your board can suddenly turn off while riding! That's why momentary buttons that require you to hold it for a few seconds to turn off are safer. Great review! :D

well. if the button fails and it behave like pressed, it would still turn off suddenly..just 2 sec later

I've owned the Endeavor S for 6 months now. Before, I owned a Meepo V3 and an Exway Flex Riot, so switching to tube tires, an actual suspension setup was a very welcome change for me considering when I go home to visit family, downtown has a lot of brick roads and uneven paving that has now become a breeze. It's my favorite board by a *long* shot. It does have a few shortcomings, noticeably how occasionally there's a delay in response for acceleration, and it is very difficult to turn right for some reason (There are adjusters on them, but they haven't done a lot for me). But all in all, it's a massive improvement. Quite a bit to lug around, but considering I can effortlessly cut corners into grass patches, gravel patches, and even dirt roads full of roots and construction track ridges that would otherwise destroy my older boards in a few miles, this is an investment I hope that will last me thousands of miles. I am a little disappointed in the battery range, but the charger included already delivers a generous chunk of power to get me up and going again (Not fast charger on the Flex fast, but still very quick regardless). I would NOT recommend this board for a new rider personally, but for someone who has experience with electric skateboards or even just handling personal EV's in general, it's a very noteworthy choice

Hi I want to buy one do you know if its IP67 highest waterproof rating? Also how does it handle riding on a boardwalk with bikers n pedestrians can you avert them easy or is it difficult to navigate in tight situations? Thanks
@Stankycreekbmx2 жыл бұрын
@@highestvirtue1892 Hey so I don’t know the specs as they haven’t listed them but I feel comfortable with light water but I wouldn’t go all out mudding with it either. The turning radius isn’t that great out if the box. But it would do in fairly tight situations. They have turn restriction plates that can be ground or filed to get it better. Propel won’t recommend this but I think it’s a must and it carves so much better. Tighten the springs down at least half a turn when you do this. It’s a carve machine now. Great acceleration and breaking. You’ll hardly ever be at top speed anyway cause it’s deadly scary but nice to know it’s there.

@@highestvirtue1892 there one dude who did a vid of it. It’s just one bolt under the board. The ride on this is going to be a lot better here because of the trucks. But the turning radius on most other boards will be better because of double kingpin trucks.

Realistically, going more than 30mph standing on a plank with wheels is really asking for it sooner or later. I've ridden for years, hit a sandy/gravel spot on a turn 2 weeks ago, slid out, hit hard, damn near cracked some ribs, road rash, helmet saved my noggin but it took more than a minute to get back up, that knocked the stuffing out of my ass! Gotta be careful, going faster than you can run with little protection can be a formula for pain and injury. At first I was more concerned with speed, quickly realized it had more than enough speed, what I want now is distance/battery time. The MH is supposed to get up to 37 miles on a charge, I get around 25-27 miles on a charge - I want a board that will go 40-50 miles on a charge, or have replaceable 25-30 mile batteries to switch out. I know battery technology has come a long way, just wishing for a board I could ride and not worry so much about running out of juice ( 4-5 miles from my truck, carrying/ dragging this 34lb monster all the way back - ugh!!! 😕 ).
@boardenjoy28052 жыл бұрын
The weaknesses : - The Antenna beside the deck lasted one use (I bought another one) - The turning radius at low speed is terrible. I regularly stop and push the board with my feet to turn it and do not want to use it downtown. - No way to carry it in public transportation. - No water proof at all - The terrible noise (About 15 times the sound of a regular board at 40km/h). - Does not accelerate very strongly But the concept works it is little car that brings you safely on rough bicycle lanes and good trails. It carves well 35-40km/h, it is a lot of fun. :) :)

Great review. Propel Endeavor's new bushings solve the sharper turning problems. Pretty amazing, I put one of the white bushings on the front and a grey in the back (I weigh between 85-90kg), it can turn and carve really well. I may put another white bushing in the back and see how much more I can get out of it. I haven't even adjusted the turning force yet, still lots of tinkering to do but no complaints, it powers through just about everything. Cheers

Excellent review, thank you! Very entertaining, too! The only issue I have with this board is that absolutely everything ships from China, including all of the possible spare parts. That means not only insanely high shipping cost ($200 for the board) but also about a three months wait time to get the board itself (water way shipping and customs) and probably the parts, too - unless you can shell out $600 for air freight. They really need to get this onto a container to the US and other continents in quantity and stock some service parts there like Backfire is doing it and then use ground shipping. I assume Propel is likely still ramping up production and this might be a bit of a steep ask. But the shipping situation is off-putting for me personally.

Agree with the review (though I have the S) - turning radius is a pain, but otherwise its good. Coms with the company have been great and speedy. I'm sure the VESC is better but the S controller is good enough for me as a casual rider - I built my own eboard some 10 years ago before they were 'mainstream' and its better than the controllers I had then so... good enough for me haha. Might be adding some basic foot grips though, similar to those found on a freeboard.

Just as a heads up this is the exact same comment I left on another electric skateboard video I watched earlier today. I'm not sporty at all, I'm a major homebody. But if I got an electric skateboard it'd be for the purpose of exercising a dog. I've thought about maybe getting a doberman later. So I'd need a way to exercise him/her throughly that doesn't require too much movement from my lazy butt lol. I know they are a big, high energy dog so training and exercise is key for breeds like that to keep them happy, healthy, and making them a good dog. I have a chihuahua currently that doesn't require a bunch of exercise and she's very small so I can get away with not needing to do much movement with her. A big dog with lots of energy though, nope. Can't get away with that without consequences. I'd find a few ways of exercising the dog that can be minimal for me but still get out their energy, this just being one of them. Thank you for this, I'll save this video in case I ever do get such a dog.

I like the electric propulsion and offroad capabilities with the big wheels. For commuting, it’s not as good as an e-bike, which you can just park on the road. For this, you would need to pick it up and haul 17 kg of it up the stairs. Being stopped from taking it on public transportation is another downside. In my city, bikes (and e-bikes) are allowed on subways only on weekends so I guess e-skateboards will be fine as well. But if you need to take this with you on a subway on your daily commute, then it doesn’t work. The problem isn’t with the skateboard but with how public streets are designed for car traffic in addition to the lack of bike lanes that make people pause about buying an e-skateboard just for fun. A $2000 piece of gear like this can be a justifiable purchase if it were useful for commuting to work but i don’t think we’re there yet in terms of how traffic rules are set up and the car-centric urban roads we have. Even bike lanes are only a partial solution because cyclists hate sharing the space with anyone riding an e-scooter or skateboard for that matter. I see how you ride your skateboard around pedestrians and it’s all good until some little kid jumps out of nowhere and then you’ve got to rely on lightning reflexes to swerve without hurting yourself or the kid. I’ve been in those situations a lot while riding my Ninebot MiniPro on sidewalks. I don’t ride on roads because cars are always trying to kill me. Not joking. I like the product, don’t get me wrong. But I’m planing to take monthlong trips on a light electric moped (I currently ride a Honda Wuyang-built H1) with a long-range battery for 150km-range, offroad capability, fast charging and what I want doesn’t exist yet. But the battery pack sponsor in this video has given me an idea on how to make a trip like that work. Thansks to the sponsor!

They now have the Endeavor 2 on their website, but it seems to be difficult to find the upgrades/differences anywhere; thoughts on this?

EV mountain board. I remember seeing a guy at my local skatepark back in 06 riding a homebrew one of these. Was ripping around everywhere. Kind of funny that it took nearly 20 years for these things to get popular. Lots of people are getting tickets riding these things though for being reckless.

Hey Daniel. I live in seattle and am looking for a great all terrain board that I can ride in the rain and won’t require taking it apart and drying components every time I get caught in the rain. Is there a board out there that you’d recommend? Does one exist?
@DanielKwan2 жыл бұрын
Not really. Splashes from wet roads after the rain should be ok for most AT boards (but slippery). I’d avoid situations where water could seep into the battery or ESC compartments even if they seem well sealed.

@@DanielKwan Thanks for the reply! love your channel. I guess I'll just plan to use my scooter to commute in the rainy season and get a board for the summer :). It's really just for getting to and from work after riding the train for my commute. (about 2 miles) The scooter zips along pretty good but skateboards just feel better..

So you have a board with suspension from a dune buggy and they put a power button on top, which is (i suspect) made out of machined aluminum and slides in machined aluminum sleeve. Someone in the RnD thought a lot about that. Premium button, kappa

Hey Is Their Any All Terrain Boards That I Would Be Able To Ride In The Rain? I Currently Have A Zeallot. Looking For An Upgrade But In California It Rains A Short Period Of Time In The Winter.

Backfire ranger or some other hub alternative and silicon coat electronics and seal the enclosure. I tried it with my trampa (belt) it didn't work as well it is rain semi resistant but not long Island beach front flood property resistant. Hope I helped.
@danli98842 жыл бұрын
In short if you want to play it safe go ranger however if you want to live life dangerously go for trampa or even meepo hurricane. (Do not pick propel the rust is going to kill the board even if you oil it and coat it on a bi monthly basis)

@@danli9884 I Looked Up The Hurricane And That Looks Promising. Especially That Ip67 Rating 35MPH. The Trampa Is A DIY Board Correct? I've Nevered Had One Or Ever Thought About One.
@danli98842 жыл бұрын
@@daveybob7272 I didn't build it I brought a kaly second hand and replaced the remote and vesc. I am guessing hurricane is as waterproof as my trampa. Just keep it in mind that ip67 is waterproof to the a degree but isn't fully idiot proof. edit: left motor on my 6374 got wet and stopped working after a while. Of course if where you live there isn't any puddles, deep snow or floods ip67 is probably good enough. Hoped I helped.

@@danli9884 How so? We actually use higher quality hardware than most. What has rusted on a Propel? This is new to me. I also ride all my offroad boards on the beach, regardless of brand. Its how you take care of it before and after that makes a difference. I live on SIesta Key in FLorida and probably ride the beach as much as I do the woods. No rust on ANY of my boards, Propel or otherwise.
