The Most Common Indication of Lyme Disease After a Tick Bite

During the early spring and summer months, #tick populations are at an all-time high. Their bites, on your pets or your family, can lead to long-term health issues. Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever are two diseases ticks spread from one victim to another.

You don't always get a bullseye rash and you can get Lyme disease from mosquitoes and spider bites as well.

I got 2 tick bites today. The ticks were attached for several hours but they didn’t get swollen or “fed”. I was able to remove it but ones mouth got stuck in. We took it out and I put alcohol on both bites. When do I need to worry about the bites? Or should I be in the clear?

More often than not, tick bites are just that, a one time "feeding", and you are done. There are two more common maladies that can be caused by ticks, and they are Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Lyme Disease. RMSF's effects are felt within a couple of weeks, you will have a sore at the bite site, followed by a "spotted rash", you will have no energy, and will have flu or cold like energy drain, and it could possibly lead to death if not discovered in a timely manner. I have never had this disease, but watched my mother and her dog go through it. Lyme Disease is a more long term malady, with the actual affects not being discovered for many years, and it usually affects your joints, like your elbows, wrists, shoulders, knees, ankles and such. I may have this myself, as I am starting to have very painful elbow pains.

Have them tested ! Get doxycline antibiotic 100 MG for 10 days

Reduce the local deer population reduces ticks. Period.

They might be called Deer Ticks, but they don't just feed on deer. Reducing the deer population will do absolutely nothing.

Bottomline if your pets keep going outside and won't stay in safe areas let them stay out in the wild and always wear talls boots ib grass all and check pants. Horrible stuff if you get lyme

It is clearly obvious that this news channel, from top to bottom, are completely clueless about ticks. Ticks are NOT seasonal at all, you can get ticks in winter, with snow on the ground as well. Sure, ticks are not AS common as they are in summer months, but they are NOT seasonal.

Plus when lyme is reactivated by another tick disease and or environmental illness this fed system also ignores you don't get a rash.

Me too. I live in NJ and have many tick borne illnesses that have left me unable to work. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I am in hell.
