I like that you're going back to basics rather than explaining more about card counting. It's a nice welcome to those who are new to this channel. Here's how I explain hitting vs. standing on hard totals to new players: Fours, fives, and sixes are up cards that most frequently bust, so you never hit anything that can bust. Sevens and higher don't bust often, so you hit up to 16s. Twos and threes are kind of in-between, so you hit on 12s but nothing higher.

Needed to hear that Hard 15 and 16. I'd come across times when im dealt this hand and I ask to hit and the dealer looks at me with surprised eyes and repeats what I said to make sure she heard me correctly. Even other players at the table would say "you should have stayed or that was a bad move" on the times I do bust the hand. It really makes me double think and reminense about if I should be hitting it the first place. Thanks for the video to bring my confidence back up and basically I just need to say fuck you in my head to the players that say that shit.

However, if you ARE a card counter, having a big bet out means that the count is high, and then, taking insurance is the correct play. Therefore, you can use the general fallacy "insure the big hands, nevermind the small ones" to help your cover, and to pretend to be a ploppy.
@OriginalGateKeeper
@OriginalGateKeeper Ай бұрын
Not quite true. The bet is made according to the count before the hand is dealt. After the hand is dealt, the count can be substantially different. ex. The count being T+3 before the hand. After everyone has got their cards, the count has dropped to a T+2. But, the dealer is showing an Ace. So, if there are big bets out, it would be irrelevant. If the counter is on the table, they won't be taking insurance so, why should you?
@mentar1048
@mentar1048 Ай бұрын
@@OriginalGateKeeper: Well sure, you can construct situations in which the TC drops enough not to warrant a insurance bet, but this will be the exception rather than the rule. In general, "I defend the big bets" works pretty well in the vast majority of situations. And in those few exceptions where you break the general rule (because TC dropped below +3), you can still respond "I didn't feel like it". Nobody will challenge you on that anyway.
@OriginalGateKeeper

Something you aren't factoring in. Sometimes a counter will throw up a bigger bet hoping you don't know the count and just react. i.e. calling for a shuffle. They do that sometimes when the shoe is unfavorable.

He said he and his team won 4 millions with black jack. Well I'm also a professional blackjack gambler and I won 8 millions. Imagine. He's lying here. Nobody wins 4 million dollar against the black jack dealer. Without PSI magical capabilities everbody is losing in black jack. There is no such thing as a professional black jack player. The dealer always has the advantage. You cant win in the long run. When someone says bullsh like we've won 4 millions playing black jack this is 100 % lied for sure. The only way you can win against the dealer is by counting cards (which is impossible nowadays) when you know or feel intuitively what the hidden card is or when you know how to place more money in the right time. The example he mentions with doubling down a 12, I mean WTF. What idiot would double down a 12??????? I would strongly disagree with hitting a 12 against a 3. A 12 is one of the worst hands you can have. You would need a 6,7,8 or 9 which is not probable. Staying is surely the better option. Doubling down on 11 against dealer 10 is wrong. When he says you will always doubling down 11 against dealer 2-10 this is retarded. Because why would you always double down no matter what the dealer has??? Doubling down against dealer 10 means your chance to lose 2x the stake is much higher. Why not just hit. It already sounds stupid that you should always double down 11. What happens when I double down 11 and an ace comes? and dealer has 10 and 7? There are so fkng many possibilities to lose with doubling down on 11 against dealer 10. Its almost funny. The casino wants stupid gamblers to play like that. They want gamblers to double down or split on every occasion.

I get kinda conservative on my 12s vs 2 or 3, or soft 18's. But I've seen players split 10's, and I happened to sit in that same table and my turn was approaching and dealt a 12 against 3. I just hit my 12. Everyone else got pissed that I ruined the cards, but the guy who split the 10s already killed it.

I almost got kicked out of a casino when doubled with A7 because the whole table fought me. I went to a casino in Pennsylvania, which I live in New Jersey, so I I’m used to Atlantic City I know that a dealer has to hit on a 16 so I was at a casino in the Poconos so I played at a blackjack table and the dealer had a 6 showing and I had 12 i was the third person to get a card. There was four of us at the table and a picture card has not been seen at all yet so I wanted to stay at 12 and the guy to the left of me ( last guy before dealers turn )says to me you have to hit on 12 .. i’m thinking to myself Is this some kind of different blackjack? I’m in a different state so I’m like OK I was dumb because the dealer also said it too you have to hit on 12 so I trusted the dealer knew the “”rule “ to this different type of blackjack, so I hit and I got a picture card which I knew it was coming because one has yet to be seen so I got up and I was like I fucking knew it I said what was I thinking I could stay on a five I could stay on six I don’t have to hit on nothing if I don’t want to, so I hit and I busted All right so then the guy next to me won the dealer busted… I was so pissed off like what kind of fucking blackjack goes on over here so I went to another blackjack table. I went up to the dealer I go is this some different kind of blackjack you guys play in Pennsylvania he goes Miss, blackjack is blackjack wherever you go. I said go get me a pit boss now.!!!!! he came I said go watch the video I wanted to stay on 12 I voiced it. I even moved my hand. The guy next to me said I have to hit on 12 and then the dealers that I have to hit on 12 so I’m gonna trust the dealer because why would a dealer lie to me and they had such good surveillance. They can even hear you talking and when I first wanted to stay, I did move my hand to stand and clearly voiced it. At the same time I said, stick and moved my hand, you know where my whole hand passing over my hand of cards that means stand I wanna stand and I told him that so they went up to look at it took them about a half hour …they come down and say whoever you’re with you could all go eat anywhere here for free. I got double my money back that I bet and that dealer was removed and never to be seen again… then later I see that JerkOFFFF that was sitting on the left side of me coming out of the bathroom and I said hey Jerkoff , why did you tell me I had to hit on 12 you piece of shit and he just kept walking…. I started talking to a lot of people there. They said you gotta watch these dealers out here I go That’s how it is over here. Well you know what I’m not coming back. I’ll stick with Atlantic City. See you later. and by the way, later on, I was physically thrown out by security one had one arm, one had the other arm down the escalator out the door. Don’t worry you’re not gonna see me again anyway, you don’t have to fucking throw me out you grimy bastards.. I should call the gaming commission on you on all your dealers u dicks!!!because one guy had 18… the dealer had 17 so all of a sudden she went to grab his money and she said 19 u lose but she didn’t have 19 she had 17 and the guy said whoa whoa whoa grabbed her hand and said you got 17 I have 18 I win … i said oh my God really ?? I’m not playing shit here because the only thing in here to play is slot machines and slot machines are for suckers and I’m not playing Texas hold em I don’t have enough money. Actually I don’t even want to even be in this casino anymore. I’m so disgusted.

Good Job, ...I started playing at the age of 15 in Hawthorne, NV ...I would wear a suit and not smile ...and I got known as a good tipper ...at the age of 18 I won $15,000- at Binions Horseshoe in Las Vegas (went to Hawaii for 3 years) came back ...went to dealers school and dealt for 30 years (craps) ...DUDE, the best game is Mini-Baccarat ...I used to take a person out and teach him to be a pro gambler by the end of 24 hours He would give me $1,000- and we would go out and play it win or lose for 24 hours 9 out 10 would enjoy the experience, but would be done with wanting to do it professionally (It is too boring) ...I like your style of teaching and will check out your entire site ...by the way, I never used the charts or memory or martingale (double until you win) The main advantage that the dealer (21) has is acting last ...so I would always sit at 3rd position, alone after 3:00 am on a double deck ...never a single deck or 6 deck shoe with craps I would clock all the games for rolls over 5 to get in (or go home) as a business you can't afford to jump in and loose half you bankroll on a lark ...you want some girl throwing the dice for an hour with a red on the layout My Last Job was at the California in Vegas where they had a GOLDEN ARM TOURNAMENT ...the winner would get $10,000- (always over 60 rolls) ...if you can't make money on that you shouldn't gamble .........................VIVA LAS VEGAS #ONLYVEGAS

This guy is totally WRONG! What he isn't mentioning is most casinos now only deal a shoe game consisting of 6, and sometimes 4 decks. There is no way in hell you can play single deck strategy with a shoe game. I was a dealer and I used to tell my players that money management was more important than playing strategy. Not only are you dealing with multipble decks but other players who more often than not, will throw a wrench into your playng stategy. I used to love to play the game but stopped when other players made it miserable to play.

Valuable feedback, but you forgot to mention and I see players doing this all the time, when they get a pair of twos or a three, and after landing a ten on their first split hand, they hit one more time and bust out the hand. Always hit the second hand, ONLY if dealer shows a 2 or 3, not the first, because there is a huge chance of getting 2 tens, and why mess up one hand, when you have the chance to win both on a dealer bust? You say to double 11 versus a ten everytime, but with deck variance it is more profitable to just hit a 11 versus a 10 or Ace, and if you don't make a hand against an Ace to hit one more time. ONLY double against a facecard! Facecards are bluff cards in the game of blackjack, but 10s are nearly, most of the time, I've been playing 10 years so I know, guaranteed dealer 20s! Know your odds, is the count really high??, before doubling a 11 versus 10, cause you need a 9 or 10 to beat a dealer 20.
@mpup54

you forgot about the aces as well. If the deck is rich with aces you could easily double down an 11 to 12. Ive done it 4 times in a row, I learned. Better to hit in that scenario, eat the ace and decide whether you want another card but at least you dont have 2 bets out there relying on that decision.

Collin, nice to see you. Hope Thanksgiving with the family was nice for you. Anyone that is afraid to bust when the right move is to hit, needs to understand this fact. Math doesn’t lie. When dealt a stiff hand it’s always better to go down trying. Blackjack is a game of math and hitting when we may not want to but I agree with you 100% in every example you showed today. Typically when I sat on third base, I usually let the table know. I hit 12’s to dealers 2 & 3. You may want to leave if you can’t stomach that. No one ever did however, they were quick to throw it in my face when I took a bust card. Not so much when I saved the table but I always answered, That’s why the cards have backs on them. This was good info to share today. Thanks!!
