omg what a plot twist. Gary was laughing at Jame for not microing better, as in, not going for the kill and wasting time defending against a harmless opponent. And when Jame said they defended well Gary laughed even more because they didn't realize they were wasting their time. Gary is a genius. I'm going to DM them asking for coaching, wish me luck guys!

When I was in college, the athletic department set up a water polo competition. So me and some other students signed up for fun. Well the coach sets up all the professional athletes against us. Of course, our side is getting slaughtered. Half time break and my team is just demoralized. So I tell them the setup is totally unfair and no way we can win, but let's consider it a victory if we even get one point. That's our goal. And yea, the other team scored another half dozen points, but we do our best and finally got that point. So everyone on my team is screaming "WE WON WE WON WE WON!". You should have seen the confusion on the coach's face. It was so funny.

I wonder a little why I’ve never heard of a Protoss using a proxy pylon to warp in units a little out of vision. Is it just not possible to do faster than it would be to get a warp prism? I don’t know the SC2 build orders well enough to say confidently

That is a thing! That being said, pylon without a gateway or nexus nearby has slow warp-ins. Warp prisms are cheaper than pylon + gateway and have the benefit of being mobile and dropships too, that's why you'll see warp prisms more often. Proxy pylons have their use cases though!

People being elitist about outdated QoL features is so stupid. The Broodwar and SC2 scene has always had a problem in this regard, ego stroking about how hard the game is when there are any number of games that have a skill ceiling beyond human reach, but that don't make you wrestle with the interface to perform the most simple tasks.

You're missing the point. SC2 stupified and skill capped the mechanics to ~150 vapm at best, much like WC3. Some ppl were high ranked GMs in SC2 with 40 apm, that's a joke. SC2 also has other issues that were implemented on purpose so that the meta depends on Blizz pumping out new paid content for it. They milked that trick as long as they could.

@@ChessJourneyman citation needed. lol theres no high ranked GMs at 40apm, if you open GM ladder and look at the match histories, everyone there is 300-400+. The guy who was most famous for having low APM was Goody and he still played up to 135 average apm in a match. Even if you were confused by the fact that sc2 used to show a lower apm in-game due to how the "faster" speed worked, he still had 96 apm (if the same game was played on normal speed not faster)
