Dave, respectfully enough with the ‘48-49 distinction. It is recognized in hobby nomenclature as a ‘48 and for that reason it is important to keep its original designation. We all have to have a common “language “ when talking and categorizing things and for the sake of consistency and lack of confusion the original designation should remain unchanged, particularly one which was established well over fifty years ago. By the way, love the card. The color and registration are dynamite fantastic, congrats!

@@51ringside3 I know , it’s just irritating that both psa and sgc have blatantly gotten things wrong in their identification of some cards, yet in most circumstances won’t change label. You’re right, not a huge deal but that is the business they are in and the hobby we are talking about
@51ringside38 ай бұрын
@@Bluejacket66 I’m with you, I like accuracy as well so no argument there. Not sure in this instance though anything was done “blatantly,” by grading companies as these cards have been categorized and described as ‘48’s long before they even got into the game. I guess the “blame” if you want to call it that, goes to the pioneers who first categorized and labeled these as such. I can’t blame PSA or SGC for not wanting to start labeling them differently either. From a business perspective, the blowback would be untenable. Can you imagine if even half of all previously labeled cards were kicked back to them to relabel? The onus would be on them to do it for no charge given they got it wrong. Of course they would argue that they were just following well accepted industry standards at the time though and no one could argue that. Bottom line is, it’s still highly commendable you did your research here and given your respectability in the hobby, most serious hobby enthusiasts (at least those who get on KZbin) understand more about this set now.
