Great review Coop! I picked up an Ironmaster IM2000 of marketplace and then pimped it out with nearly every attachment and I am glad I did, the good folks at Ironmaster even helped me out with spare parts when I reached out to them, the photos don't do it justice, this machine is actually very solid, functionaly built not overbuilt, 11 gauge steel and the more you use it the more you realise how well thought out this design is from the single very hefty back post freeing up space and adding functionality to the 4 tier plate storage that doesn't interfere with the function like on a 4 post power rack to the small footprint, not having to bolt it down. Having trained for 20 years and worked in gyms it is fair to say this is probably the smoothest Smith bar I have ever used, it is almost perfect for a home gym as it is very quiet so you can train early AM without waking the house up. There is an optional low row footplate (isn't everything an add-on with Ironmaster) that gives you a greater range of motion and also a docking support turning it into a cable curl machine with the preacher pad accessory and the pump you will get has to be experienced to be believed (these attachments also work with the Ironmaster stand-alone lat tower as well). You used to see earlier iterations of this machine advertised in bodybuilding magazines back in the day. So if you are looking for a half rack, belt squat, smith machine, low row, pull-down, vertical leg press, machine curl, pec dec etc to add to your home gym I think you will be impressed with how well it actually functions if not by the price and aesthetics although having one of these bad boys parked in your garage will scream old school pumping iron!

I bought my IM2000 8 years ago. Loved it got all the attachments with it there are tiers of packages that include the attachments etc. I had to sell it when I moved across the country. I loved it so daym much I bought it again in 2020. I have all the attachments except the belt squat thing. Yea it’s not ideal for everything but it’s small footprint and variety of set ups is a must for me. In combination with my powertec leverage gym I find that I can do 90% of the exercises I used to do in a commercial gym. I have the IM adjustable dumbbells as well. I love it so much and I’ll keep it as long as I’m working out at home.

Ironmaster is a brand that truly stands out for its innovation, quality, and unique design. Unlike others that follow trends, Ironmaster creates original, thoughtfully engineered products. Every piece I’ve purchased, whether the bench, dumbbells, kettlebells, or lat bar, is built to last and perform. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are unmatched.

Finally! I absolutely love my Ironmaster im2000. When you consider this particular version has been out since 2005, old versions going back to the late 70’s early 80’s it’s pretty incredible. So ahead of its time and still such a unique, versatile machine.

I’m a proud IM owner starting with the Im500 to the im2000. You can do so much. I would say the only thing I wish they would put in the next product or upgrades should be a functional trainer using the existing lifting bar or weight horns. I thought this would happen for many years but I have not seen anything yet…. It is for this reason I think it could be disruptive. I have all of their attachments including the bench, dumbbells etc. it is truly the best self spotting system out there. The side rails are proprietary hole pattern so you are delegated to using the IM ecosystem which still is very good…there is pull downs all types, preacher, self spotting, leg press, dips, belt squat, land mine, bands, pec deck, calf raise, leg curls/ bench etc, pull ups, all row variations, free bar , presses-all, shoulder press- all, etc

I have an IM1000 I bought 30 years ago and I still love it. It has native 2" everything. I swapped out the plastic pulleys for aluminum ones last year. From the specs the IM2000 looks to be about 6" deeper. In a small space every bit counts, and I have a cardio machine in the same spare bedroom. The IM1000 had an available low row attachment, but it was cumbersome so I never bought it. The other thing is the IM1000 bench is much less versatile than super bench since it attaches to the IM spine, but it is sturdy and compact and all I need. I suspect but don't know for sure that the IM2000 belt squat attachment could be adapted to the IM1000.

I love ironmaster. I have a set of their dumbbells, extra weights and the extended collars, their now discontinued fat grips, their bench, and in the past i had their lat tower and the accessory tree with almost every accessory for the bench. I did end up getting rid of the lat tower and most of the accessories due to constant moves and limited space since I'm a Soldier. But damn if i had my original basement again I'd absolutely go all out with Ironmaster products all over again.

I picked this up just prior to lockdown for around $1300. I've been adding all the attachments over time. My big knock is that IronMaster does seem to nickel and dime you on things you'd think should come standard. From a bodybuilding standpoint, and especially with limited space, you really can't go wrong with the IronMaster ecosystem. The IM2000, Super Bench, their adjustable dumbbells, and some attachments and there's hardly a body building movement you can't do. Then you combine the j-cups with the spotter arms giving you the ability to do barbell movements, it's really the best of both worlds. The leg press footplate isn't that bad either, if you consider for around $100 you also can have an inverted leg press. I also got the belt squat under $100 at an intro price. It's surprising how many different movements you can have in such a small space, their attachments are really well thought out. The only downfall is that if this is your only machine it will take some time switching between exercises, and only one person at a time can use it.

They’ve bumped the price up a lot over the last few years. Another channel reviewed it in 2021 and I believe it was $500 cheaper. Also, I know it was called out that it’s imported but it’s important to point out that Ironmaster makes all its products in Taiwan and not China. There are higher labor standards there so they can’t price as cheaply as Chinese products. Their economies of scale are not as strong as other mainstay home gym players either. Lastly, in most states, you won’t have to pay sales tax, so that’s essentially a 7-10% discount and of course, shipping is “free”.

@jamestonbellajo
@jamestonbellajo 7 күн бұрын
@@gregorycocco9043I think it’s due to a combination of state laws, how companies like Ironmaster interpret those laws for their operations and whatever business they may do locally in their area, which is Washington state.

I had this, but sold it during covid and got the forceusa monster g6. I gotta say the IM2000 is heavier duty than the g6. The gauge steel they use is much thicker. So without the g6 having the weight stacks, The IM2000 would actually be more heavy because of the thicker steel . It does have an out dated design, no all in one functional trainer . No numbered up-rights. I will say Ironmasters customer service is miles ahead of forceusa. Even one of the best in the USA

@KeterMalkuth
@KeterMalkuth 8 күн бұрын
Not GGR; generally coop recommends adjustable dumbbells over fixed for most people. Yes4all is going to be much lower quality than kensui in general. If you want to go with adjustable dumbbells, coop did a video going over basically every decent option on the market, including both the kensui handle and the generic handles that yes4all uses. I'd recommend watching that video before making a purchase, and to avoid fixed dumbbells unless you know for a fact you want and need a fixed set

Clever design, but quite pricey, at least here in Europe. About 400 euro more expensive than an ATX smith machine including a plate loaded pulley. And only 200 euro less than the version with a 115 kg weight stack.

That’s exactly my thought on the IM2000: genius ideas on how to reuse the same components for more versatility, but absolutely none of it translates to a lower price for the consumer. The rack is cool, though looks outdated. The price tag is an absolute head scratcher, and is literally the single reason I didn’t buy it when I built my gym

I was in the same boat. In Canada, this thing with a superbench pro is almost $4k CAD, vs. a Powertec Levergym (bench included) which is right around $2k CAD. And you don't have to sit on the floor for lat pulls!

Personally I don’t think it’s crazy expensive, and the versatility of the im2000 for its footprint is still pretty unrivalled. People seem to forget this is 11 gauge machine and a smith bar rated to 1000lbs.

@@powerplanthomegym people don’t “forget” that it’s 11-gauge steel, they compare to to competing options on the market and see it’s overpriced for what it is. Smith machine rack combos are no longer hard to find, and they’re cheaper than the IM2000 - €1700 here in Europe and doesn’t even come with a chin-up bar or jcups! For less money than the IM+accessories you can get ATX’s cable cross rack with a built in smith machine, dual weight stack cable crossover, and built in storage shelving - also in 11-gauge steel. The IM2000 isn’t bad, the IM2000’s price is bad

@ @ when I bought the IM2000 nearly 3 years ago it was just over 1400 on one of their sale days, which I admit is a much better price. I still don’t think the 1800 is bad for what you are getting. People keep saying “compared to competitors” show me one machine as good, versatile and heavy duty as the im2000, nothings been mentioned. I looked at ATX and the cheapest I could find that you’re referring too is the gmx but that’s 2800, that’s their entry level all in one system with inferior smith bar and leg press function, also doesn’t have belt squat attachment either. You’re looking at good amount of money for something comparable but with DAP added imo. The high and low pulleys on the im2000 cover all basis really. I have heard they are doing a im3000 with a DAP so that’ll be interesting how they price that compared to what’s available on the market.

Considering you’re going to pay $1,000+ for a smith machine attachment I think getting this entire thing down to $1,000 isn’t all that realistic. Would be nice if the $1,800 included everything though. Or starting price was closer to $1,500 or something.
