In S26 I discovered that the GR70 guaranteed primal drop can be an item for a different class. My DH got some lovely Crusader bracers. How we laughed. On the other hand, last season I got Shadow's leggings, very useful.

Good tier, someone who realizes movement speed third is the best option for starting the season over the perma pool which you don't need until way later.

Can be faster as well if you are solo with 2 accounts. You lvl and gear up your main and give spare gear to your sec acc and unlock primal on it. Then you can just farm keys fast/tp sec acc down to pick up keys. Then blast gr 90`S with both and any primal that drop on sec acc you just throw over to your main. :)

One note to add to this method: Once the Greater Rift Guardian is defeated, the rest of your party can just teleport to you, so you don't have to spend time walking them to the Rift Guardian. Good luck in Season 28!

Theres more to the math considering you get double leggies from Kadala in the tree. Higher tiers giving more blood shards will let you target a particular slot/item type for a primal that you're looking for.

For the amount of bloodshards to make a real difference, you'd have to farm 20+ tiers higher than on your speed variant. And even then it's arguable considering the difference will usually be 3 runs vs. 4 to cap on bloodshards

I started Typhon because I had never played it and enjoyed the fantasy. I fully planned to go Tal Rasha (because obvs), but then a Primal Fragment of Destiny dropped, then a perfect breakpoint T and T, then an ancient Winter Flurry with Hydra 15% so I've just accepted my fate. Ironically, my first Primal (other than the guaranteed one) was a Hellfire Amulet when I was trying to get an Ancient for the Altar. :/

I too have kept using the Typhon set. I haven’t gotten any good items yet lol but I much prefer it over the tal rasha set dropping meteors everywhere and I can’t see anything.

Just not sure those higher alter buffs are doable enough for casual players. In all my years of playing I've never reached GR 120. It just seemed like a meta game and not required. GR 90 was about as high as I bothered to go. But with the alter, I now feel like I am being forced to push to GR120 or get left behind. To me speed runs seem like a meta game too. If you can even call it a game at that point. Just don't know if the effort is worth the time sink...

Last season, Raxx had a video of showing us how for DH, when you upgrade rare daggers in the cube, the chance of getting primal is quite high (he does the actual calculation - higher compared to other items/class) because there’s only two legendary daggers for DH. He actually did only handful of upgrades and it became primal lol so I guess couple weeks in when you are sitting on a lot of mats but not getting lucky with drop rates, that’s something that you could do to get primals

That sounds a little strange to me, there was probably a lot of luck involved on that I'm guessing. When upgrading rares the game doesn't care how many iterations of that particular weapon there are, the chance for a primal is still the same. The only thing this scenario does is guarantee that if you got a primal it would be one of two items. One thing I can guarantee is that if this worked everyone would be doing it this season, and even in this video Wudi says specifically "there is nothing you can do to increase the rate of primals."

Pretty sure this is an instance where Raxx was saying compared to farming OTHER specific primals, getting the dagger was faster simply because you’re rolling the dagger you want more frequently because of the reduced number of possible daggers from upgrading. Compared to say upgrading a ring to a legendary, the odds of pulling the SPECIFIC primal ring you want is incredibly lower than pulling the SPECIFIC primal dagger you want because there are so many more possible rings to roll on the loot table. The number of primals you roll in general doesn’t increase. The layout of the loot table just makes it so that the primals that you do happen to roll have a higher likelihood of occurring on the SPECIFIC piece that you want.

Thanks for the info, these videos have been so useful. Late last season I ran a HC DH up to about P600 farming GR80+ (before the season closed) and I didn't get a single Petrified Scream. I got plenty of Ramas and loads of crucibles. I know it's just bad RNG - a few seasons back I didn't get any Ramas until about p600. Still, it's a concern for me as we need a scream for seal 14. I'm so glad the Never Ending Questions requirement got nerfed.

@@ANDY_YTUBE I usually get about the same drop rate for Ramas and screams - it's jarring to get plenty of one but none of the other. Maybe if Season 27 had lasted a few more days I would have found a bunch of screams, who knows. But my point is that bad RNG can happen and the majority of players don't ever go beyond P800 in any season. I used to top out at P650 in the old days, season journey done. I still rarely reach P1000. I'm a casual gamer with a limited time budget, I never play in groups, I prefer SSF. Can you imagine being stuck on seal 12 or 14 for over 80% of your seasonal play time? Not nice.

I was also wondering what should be priority when it came to primals this season. Keep vs. salvage vs. sacrifice vs. upgrade. It would still be nice to get the maxroll teams opinion on what item should get the primal upgrade at the cube. I naively assume it's whichever of my current items has the worst roll, but maybe not since you only get to wear one. Would it be better to upgrade your main hand instead?

One key aspect i found is you should NEVER re-upgrade an already upgraded primal. If you want to do that again, instead just salvage the primal & get a different legendary to upgrade (or even the same piece obviously, just not the primal)

imho, a jewelry spot. As per mathematics, there is a 90% chance that your best jewelry is Normal. You have only a 10% chance that a single jewelry piece is your best piece. Why not fudge those rolls? Give your self a 90% chance your best jewelry is a primal?

TL;DR: Damage of your weapon is first value in damage calculation. Everything else is a multiplier of that value. Getting this base value as high as possible would logically make the most sense. The most important item is usually the weapon you wear. All your skills deal a percentage of weapon damage and maximising that would get you the most damage (as you get max rolls on min and max damage on the weapon this way). Another good option would be rings since we often want average damage on those (crit chance, crit damage, average damage, socket). Average damage is the roll "x - y damage" (ex: 100 - 200 damage"). Reason being, this average damage gets added to your weapon damage for calculations IIRC. Although that might just be an argument why it's best to get your weapon to be primal in the first place.

The hardest thing for me this season is to get an ancient puzzle ring... Looted 50+ crafted 20+ rerolled 20+ and STILL not ancient... but on the other side I got 4 pieces of staff of herding before hitting even lvl 60 in 2 lobbys. Somethings wrong I can feel it.. xD

For me the biggest cockblock was the fucking Ancient Puzzle Ring. I got hundreds of ring drops by the time I hit Paragon 1000, over 20 of them were puzzle rings. And not one ancient. I was stuck on that step for so long that I eventually had to bite the bullet and upgrade one of them to a primal ancient puzzle ring using the cube in order to unlock the rest of the tree.

I assume many people should use the new cube recipe before getting the 2nd or 3rd potion perk otherwise you lose out on time to farm to push gr90 and it automatically gives perfect rolls that you are usually spending the first week grinding; double primal seems better as end game but it technically doesn’t do much on the aspect of whether it could be your BiS on your specific build and if you are min maxing then you are going to spend more changing and crafting primal then trying to farm drops; you will be subject to RNG anyways since they limit crafted primal to 1 which means you have to wait and grind for primals to actually replace your crafted

Except that stats on the cubed primal are RNG. So it's entirely possible that you get something you want Crit Crit AD on with Vit, all res and armor

I'm asking because I just got it as my 10th unlock and noticed it didn't change anything on my character stats so was hoping it was invisible by design instead of a bug. I'm guessing more primals and more legendaries from kadala will be good, but still not even as good as S27 theme where you could at least reroll the sanctified item with the amount of ancient crucibles that were dropping. Most primals that drop are useless, even 2x drop is going to be 0.000002% of items will be primals instead of 0.000001%, scrapping bad primals to get a reroll on the only craftable primal you can wear is not going to be that great. The altar powers like more damage and more resistance are going to help a lot more imho.

Especially if we have shitty weapon and we don’t plan to push a 150 for now but just speed farm. I didn’t though about that and just rushed the entire altar in my simulations this lasts days.

No its just not strong enough for that high of a GR. The Nat build "might" be able to but the DH doesnt really have any builds that would manage with a GR 150. I plan on starting with DH to get the altar unlocks and roll a Wiz to push 150.

Primals are not problem at all :D the act 3 frozen cave is the problem the random drop is low from that npc and on top of that that biač is not there 100% of time so it's a lot of restarting a game There is a bigger chance to get primal then frozen cave and drop from chitalalalalaa

Cap is still around GR98. That is where you have highest chance to get 12 legendaries On GR90 the 12th legendary isn't guaranteed. Why GR90 then? Time. GR90 is lowest you can get but still have decent chance to get 12 legendaries.

If you don't save it, you are stuck on step 15 until Tuesday. And there is a small chance, that Tuesday's challenge rift will be very hard, I remember a wudijo challenge rift some years ago when people weren't happy :D I would worry more about the components for the staff but they will drop eventually.

I don't think using the cache offers much this season as it is still going to be easier than leveling with a cache(in previous seasons) since you get a guaranteed 70 weapon through bs without having to be lucky to reroll reduced lvl req.

@@Drelu_ you dont need the cache literally 1 round of T1 bounties gives you everything you need to max the black smith and craft a level 70 weapon and if you're playing say a necro its literally negative difficulty easy mode lol you can do it in 30-40 mins and then make your main class and breeze on T6 with ease.... the only reason to use the cache is if you're uber lazy and dont care about having to wait until next week to progress past level 15 of the altar
