I knew maybe half of these. Spanish is so hard, yet so fun to learn at the same time. There's so much to learn but when you do, it opens up a whole new world.

"minimizate y hazte click", y Sebastián Rulli...Tambien aprendi "esa zarrapastrosa" :))))

As a SPANIARD, I had never ever heard the slang term PEDO (meaning DRUNK, or STONED) in FEMENINE FORM ("PEDA"). Here, we use it, ALWAYS, for, both, man & women, in the masculine form PEDO ("Él estaba pedo"; "Ella estaba pedo").

This was very helpful, I knew some of them but not all. I always was a little unsure about the slang of "fresa" but I think I got it now. I've heard people who talk just like that great imitation she did! Another expression I don't quite understand is "no manches". Maybe someone can explain that one to me. Gracias, los videos son excelentes!
@dianasalgado75042 жыл бұрын
"No manches" is a surprise expression, when we can't believe something, for example; when a friend tells you that your girlfriend was a guy, you can't believe and say "no manches". This expression is used also when someone is exaggerating a situation.

Im learning Spanish too so I could be wrong but I think no manches is like “no way” and no mames means the same thing but it’s apparently more vulgar ig so more like “you’re shitting me” if that makes sense lmao

Hola Mariana! Me gustan mucho los videos de Spring Spanish. Soy gringo del estado de Texas en los Estados Unidos, donde mucha gente habla español. Me gustaría comentar que aquí en Texas, el uso de la palabra güey puede resultar en un problema porque puede ser un insulto. Es verdad que entre amigos se usa mucho, pero tienes que tener mucho cuidado en el uso de esa palabra. A propósito, tu inglés es excelente!
@yourpadre102 жыл бұрын
Es un Mexican slang 🇲🇽 : "Wey" Y sólo se dice entre conocidos amigos con gente de confianza obviamente!!
@mjuarez69452 жыл бұрын
En México también puede ser insultante. No puedes decirle "wey" a tus abuelos o a tus padres o a cualquier persona que no conozcas con quién no tengas confianza. Aunque eso ya depende de la educación de cada quien y de cada familia.
@sydurgraham7760 Жыл бұрын
I describe güey as "fucker". You can say it to friends and people you know, but just randomly calling someone you just met and don't know a "fucker" can definitely be problematic and/or even start a fight! ¡Que ten cuidado güey!
@sydurgraham7760 Жыл бұрын
"Wey" is actually "güey", and it comes from the word "güero"! But because of the pronunciation, *A LOT* of people think it's actually "wey", especially if they've never seen the correct form.

No, the actual literal meaning of "guey"
@margaritakleinman5701 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I accidentally posted too soon. Anyway, the actual literal meaning of "guey" is not "güero", it's "ox". Yes, "guey" means "ox"!!

You should clarify the "fresa" accent is only Mexico City and , specifically, wealthier neighborhoods or people who want to appear that they live in those neighborhoods. Also, güey (i.e., buey) was 2 decades ago and longer a very "vulgar" word in Mexico. If you were looking for a fight, you would call somebody buey.

You can use both they are fine! I'm Mexican so, don't worries. If you want to follow the Spanish grammar It could be Güey, but Is not necessary because it's too informal. BTW güey, wey, guey, comes from the animal "buey" = ox. So at the end we call us like an "animal".
