Have you heard about Asteroid Apophis? It's like the rockstar of space-cool name, big impact! This bad boy has been causing a stir among astronomers. It's got a reputation for being a bit of a troublemaker, swinging by Earth every now and then, giving us all a little scare. But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom-NASA's been keeping a close eye on it. They're on top of the game, crunching numbers, plotting trajectories, and making sure Apophis knows who's boss. So, while it's definitely something to keep an eye on, let's leave the asteroid-wrangling to the experts, shall we?

earth would still face a massive disaster see most of the world is covered in volcanoes and nuclear power plants if it hits it will cause a shock wave that's the equivalent of 1000 nukes on top of super volcanoes exploding and our nuclear power plants we will definitely be in another ice age wedo hower have a rock headed here the size of mount Everest and its gonna be pulled into our orbit and swing around for about 2 months i feel were in don't look up the news is only telling us what we want to hear not what we need to and we need to get this thing taken care of i don't know what there plan is but so far we have 62 days before it reaches our moon

No. It was named 99942 Apophis because: The astronomers who discovered it were geeks (not a bad thing). 999: because it's 666 upside down. You know. Mark of the Beast. 42: because it's the ultimate answer, to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Apophis: because he was the villain on their favorite show- Stargate: SG1.
