I did BMX back in the 80'S (yes I'm old at 52) and for me when it came to my bike, Mondays and Fridays were maintenance and inspection days for my bike, and I had a schedule of things that got replaced at certain intervals no matter what. I hope that you addressed all of the issues with the bikes owner and he had them taken care of.

For the most part I will do all the basic maintenance needed for our bikes… Just depends on what it is but yes I do however take my bikes in for repair from time to time to my local bike Shop… Sure I could do it all but sometimes I don’t need the extra work but my bike shop does and in my opinion when I take anything to them for repair I feel like I’m helping them out as well …My Son and I are fairly new to the BMX scene so really we are still learning things about BMX and these Videos the guys make are really helpful ! @emilss80723 жыл бұрын
@@Thatblackz28 I've thought abt this and this is a problem since I don't know if the spring tension is equal on both sides which could make one brake pad be closer than the other even if the rim would be completely straight, might look at it again, experiment a little. The dish of the rim compared to the hub also concerns me.

@F1ak023 Жыл бұрын
brakeless is mainly for part and some street riding but usually hard to new riders due to using your foot to stop, brakes get in the way when doing certain tricks like a bar spin and can stop far easier and faster depending on the type of brakes; the choice is up to you but in personally i ride with brakes because i love doing wheelies and stuff of that sort

I’ve always been told by people who work on bikes that I should have a little less than a half inch of slack in my chain but the chain you were saying was too loose looks about as tight as I usually go for on my chain. Am I doing it all wrong? Does it need to be just a bit tighter than that one or way tighter? Cause you made it sound like it was very loose. I’ve never had any issue with my chain like that if it gets any looser it will start to jump a tooth or two at a time every now and again on your sprocket… which is no fun. Should it be pulled tight with full tension???

I run 33 sprocket and a 10 tooth driver in the back. I always have trouble getting it just right so it run's smooth and no high spots . Ya the gear ratio I run is basically so i can get 3 real hard cranks in . Working on your bike is the best way to fully dial in to your bike so it rides the way you want it to ride. Besides working on bikes now you need a 17mm size 6 Allan unless it's profile and then you need a 6.6 or 8 pending your cranks size 4 if your doing brakes I think. I am 39 so I have seen bmx make huge changes for the better
