@@abdolrahmanhamed2821 Chechnya used to be a republic of terrorists and Wahhabis who came from the UAE. The fact that they fought against the Russians does not mean that they were good, they traded slaves right on the street, killed ordinary people and raped women. Now everything is very good here, no one is oppressing or killing anyone, it’s you who are showing all sorts of nonsense there about the need to liberate "Ichkeria" from Russian occupation, that it is necessary to save the poor people of Chechnya, who "suffer" from Russia, but believe me that it is much better for all of us to live in its composition, because we are automatically protected from external threats, because we have been taken under the wing of a nuclear power. Probably the travel advisories are stemming from the bad reputation of Chechnya back 20 years ago. Back then there was lots of insurgents and Chechnya was known as a place where foreigners were often kidnapped or killed (4 British telecom workers were beheaded by rebels). Now it has law and order and is very safe for tourists, as long as you keep your nose out of local politics and respect local traditions. Crime rates are very low but it's an Islamic republic and that means no public drinking, no public display of affection, and you must dress modestly, especially females.

There is no bars, night clubs, etc. in Chechnya. Alcohol is forbidden. People not only go to jail but get expelled from their community when they do something shameful, as in noone wants to talk to them anymore, not even their family, due to Chechen traditions. Rape in particular is non-existent in Chechnya because, as I said, people who commit crimes are expelled from communities, and rape is a huge shame for the one who commits it.

made us afraid what? I guess the braindead, the cowardice or most likely the uninformed could be afraid but you dont need to be afraid to know when going somewhere is probably not a good idea. Its common sense but most people dont have that so they need to be told which places come with what risk if you decide to go there then it becomes their own choice to be afraid or not of such facts. Most people lack understanding of much of anything which can lead to being afraid of the unknown out of sheer self preservation so its each individuals own choice to be afraid and that cannot be blamed on whatever else you said

Beautiful bride and friendly looking people. I think Chechnya has a “dangerous” reputation because of the fierce nature of the people when they need to protect themselves. The other “dangerous” aspect of Chechnya from the point of view of Westerner’s is Kadyrov’s blatant and brutal way of capturing, imprisoning, torturing, and killing his personal enemies and political opponents like the Yangulbayev family. Then there are Basayev and Salman Raduyev. Despite the reputation of some brutal warlords Chechnya looks like a beautiful region with a diverse and amazing culture.

@@raghavnamasivayam8706 I understand that Kadyrov is a dictator puppet of Putin, but prior to Russia taking back control in the region, Chechnya was overrun with Saudi-influenced Salafis who were basically like "ISIS of the Caucasus". Kadyrov is a bad man yes, but at least under him Chechens can keep their language and traditions and unique brand of Sufi Islam, under the Salafis like Basayev and Khattab, they would have become another Afghanistan-type hellhole.

well lets start with a small problem that Chechen republic never should be part of russia, Russia took it after two bloody wars and installed dictator who rules like Putin wants. I agree its uniqe place, and ravaged and destroyed by russia and russian puppets. Its not advisible to go to Chechen republic right coz of Ramzan Kadyrov who is war criminal and is ruling with iron fist, to any of you wondering why Chechen men have exactly same beard, its not coz of chechen tradition or culture, but coz of law put in place by Kadyrov and anyone who is not following it, is considered traitor and maybe even put to death on the spot. Chechen ppl are wonderful and they have amazing culture sadly they are used and demolished by russia and ruled by a Putin's puppet. Oh and btw, Kadyrov put a law saying that woman is not independent, she is considered property of man, and he can also exact revenge on her if she for example cheats on him but also is husband thinks that she is acting immoral, revenge in most cases means to kill, its called hounor killing.

Even I was detained for a 16 hours on the third day of my two week trip to Chechnya, while visiting to attend my brothers wedding.
