Have you seen the pencil art of Anton Vill? It's a bit weirder, and it's isometric, but it's just as hyper-detailed. He drew some stuff for Disco Elysium.

Great break down. I am not really a fan of "comic books" (especially the pablum produced by Marvel and DC now) - I consider Darrow's work to fall into the Graphic Novel genre. It's way more detailed and way more cerebral than "comic books" - plus it is gritty and rough - no perfect anatomical studies - his characters are frumpy, dirty and human looking. They have receding hairlines, fat rolls and blemishes - he's just WAY more than a "comic book artist". IMO.
