I've read recently that the universe overall is becoming more complex, not chaotic.

Theoretically, with unlimited shuffling, one of the shuffles could result in the deck being back to it's original order.
@Constantinesis3 күн бұрын
Exactly what i was thinking. But the amount of energy you need to keep shuffling the cards is huge. It also means that intelligence is a way the Universe evolve to optimise the process. At least apparently because there is also a huge amont of energy spent to create intelligence...

As unlikely as it may be, it is possible for it to happen on the first try.
@Vile_Entity_354512 күн бұрын
The reason why a shuffled pack of cards will likely never be able to shuffle into the perfect starting deck again is because there is 8x10^67 different combinations with 52 cards, or a 68 digit long number of possibilities.

@sussekind97176 күн бұрын
@josephdillon9698 Yet, still a non-zero chance. Any order is just as likely as any other order.
@josephdillon96986 күн бұрын
@@sussekind9717 if every person shuffled a deck of cards a billion times a second since the universe started odds are no one would get the same order.
@sussekind97176 күн бұрын
3:25 - No, that's wrong. Any order of the cards is just as likely as any other. Any particular order of the cards is extremely unlikely. However, it has to come out in some kind of (dis)order (unless, of course, you're playing 52 pickup). In this case, order is just anything we designate it to be.
@kdud279912 күн бұрын
I think why entropy is bound to always increase is because, in the process of creating order, we add to entropy, and the order itself carries a new form of potential entropy that never existed!! I really love the clarification on the relationship between life's challenges and entropy!!! ❤❤❤

Entropy doesn't help explain why you can't move backward in time. It is essentially saying, since I think this rule applies to this, which is not proven, now you must apply it to this other unproven situation. It doesn't work. What does work is that in order to go back into time, you must prove that something somewhere in the universe is storing all of past time, or any amount of past time. Barring that, time itself doesn't exist let alone unlimited past versions of it. Right now, the only place time is stored is in or brains.

Please explain "ideal processes"! "Everything is marching towards a collabs" suits a selection of degrading prozesses extremely well. But yet death is not a process of aging, but the aging of cells is very often a part of our dna program and cell death makes out of a handschaped flipper a human hand with fingers and thumbs. If plants overgrow ancient building, the building may bend their knee to f-ing entropy, while the living nature ist building up usefull patterns. Entropy exists, but physics teaches decay as ultima ratio, although there's no proof, that the univers is a closed system. Entropy hold people back to think their inventions in full circles, but we need full circles to generate recycles!

"Order" isn't a scientific term is it? It's a subjective human term right? Plus you can take things which are "disordered" and make them "orderly" right? Sure it requires energy to do so but everything isn't constantly moving towards disorder. I think maybe "equilibrium" is a better word to describe it. Everything is moving into a state where it doesn't move at all and it doesn't share any energy with the things around it because it along with the things around it have nothing to share.

The universe is a ball. Which sits inside another ball. Which sits inside a pyramid. Which sits inside of nothing. God handles everything. There is no big rip. And no big crunch. And now that it has started. It will never end. When stars explode. New stars and planets start from the gases

And…….uh…do not want to be greedy but even Anton won’t tell me from where that darned singularity came. Bet he knows. Fine vid! Just jiving but as a lifelong pro musician I can say with high confidence that if the arts are one side of the coin then the fact that art and science are truly two sides of one coin.. is true. What part of “The power to observe” fails to succinctly describe each & further, tie both parts of science and art together. We folks who enjoy thinking because it is SO much fun are going to have to resist now, more than anytime I’ve ever seen in over 7 decades. Unless you can build nukes and have never any had “empathy with other humans”, Hunker Down folks. Get your supples and hunker down. GBU All

But using the coffee and milk metaphor, eventually won’t the milk evenly be dispersed thus lowering the entropy? Isn’t the heat death a point of spontaneous order after everything has evened out?

In short .. Ha! Ha! .. We are merrily devolving rather than just painfully evolving, materially - even as we 'evolve' formally and 'devolve' actually .. thus, finally, 'involving' 'revolving' and 'convolving' more or less purposefully (if not, in fact, rationally, yet in truth, as part of the data of the perceived motion, observed by particular kinds of intellect). Yey! ;o)

Who wants to live forever? EN is hole, pore. Permeability. UpDown DenSity. EnErgy is gyro, gimbal, traMMeL of oscillating ring. Euler disk similar. Light trapped among electron knots or bubbles is matter positive plus. We have also anti minus and negative plus matter. Or vortex, spirals or pitas. Fields. EN or e9 is muSHroom cap. STr8 move also called mixing MM I CS makes 2 opposing eddies or vortices or spinors. From which mushroom cap appears. Cap as negative. Aries 2RЯ23 mirror as positive. I don't see usefulness of entropy. Chaotic glass as amorphous chaotic, silenced sound in SiO2 is useful. I dislike theory that is static. And I get that nature abhors vacuum and wants low level, syMMetry death... Calcification pehaps is corner stone of entropy. Similar water in boilers ,scale. We know nothing of water that has enormous density. We could start there. Water 88 and light 89 both have same soliton lettrrs HY heXa.

This doesn't make sense. The universe is low in entropy when all parts are uniform and evenly distributed. The universe is high in entropy when all parts are uniform and evenly distributed. This suggests that order has no part in it. The greatest point of disorder is halfway between both states. This is called complexity.

13:25 a hypothesis does not explain anything. A theory may. A fact does. This dude sucks ass. Hypothesis=an idea or guess about an effect from a cause, as I recall and understand. Theory=experiment performed based from a hypothesis, the experiment having been repeated in hopes of comparably similar results being obtained, to then explain the whys and what's of the hypothesis, the explanation being termed a theory. Even if not fully on point, this dude is not using terms correctly.

When has an explosion(the Big Bang) EVER coalesce into such magnificent creations such as the Earth and living creatures? NEVER! To believe such a farcical explanation of our creation is antithetical to the entire premise of the 2nd law of thermodynamics! It would necessitate a turning point at which coalescence ceases and entropy begins! That supposed point in time would be a significant one! One that would certainly have a name or term for. I know of no such thing!
