Still a great video even tho Perry and Erick are not in it. They will be greatly missed! Also, your welcome for the Fail Safe recommendation. As I said in my message, I think this film is grossly overlooked so I am more than happy to have helped spread the word about this film by giving you the money to buy it! Looking forward to the review whenever it comes! Also funny enough I was literally begging you to choose 12 Angry Men at the end for the same reason you ended up choosing it in the video and was so relieved when you choose it 😂😂😂
@bbattersby23452 жыл бұрын
The reason it was overlooked was because Dr Strangelove and Fail Safe were distributed by the same company and Kubrick insisted his film should be released first. This hurt Fail Safe's release because people weren't interested in seeing a straight version of the same story and people who did see it found it unintentionally hilarious because of Strangelove. Kubrick and the author of the original book Strangelove was based on also tried to sue the filmmakers because the concept was similar despite being adapted from a different novel.

@@bbattersby2345 Hi Blake! I knew a bit of the backstory beforehand but thank you for giving me a better insight into it. Btw I finally watched Dr. Strangelove last night and yeah it’s a great film (though I don’t love it as much as Fail Safe 😂😂😂).

I would definitely recommend watching ‘all about my mother’ imo it’s his best after ‘the skin I live in’ , I also personally really love ‘tie me up , tie me down!’ As well. I could understand why people wouldn’t like TMUTMD or something like ‘women on the verge of a nervous breakdown’ but ‘all about my mother’ i feel isn’t as quirky as those other films of his and has more of a serious tone like ‘the skin i live in’ (nowhere near as dark) Also ‘Canoa : a shameful memory’ is super underrated imo nobody really talks about that film much, but its actually really good !
