RE: TIS volume ... According to the manual "The volume of the audio alert (TIS) is configured during installation" I looked through the one G1000 installation guide I could find, and there was not a section on the hazard avoidance system. TAWS audio is adjustable through the NAV VOL. Seems like they should do the same for TIS and TAS. Surely, someone has access to a hazard avoidance installation guide. To reduce the automatic alert volume you can either add a resistor in series with the same resistance as the speaker impedance stamped on the back, (50% volume reduction) or half the resistance (33% volume reduction), OR, you can add a high-pass capacitor using High Pass Filter Calculator to find the value. That cuts out bass frequencies, but then the warning is flat and tinny, and sounds cheap. All that voids the warranty.

Turn Betty down by putting a potentiometer in line with the audio out. Adjust to comfort level.
@farmnranchapiarybeehiveser81203 жыл бұрын
I would on any of my airplanes with their experimental. At least if you're in the U.S.A. you just can't do that on a certified plane. Don't know about PG rules. If It is a safety issue if she's drowning out the Tower or other audible commands. Many times they could issue waivers. That's often soon followed by a directive. One may have already been issued And that's if it's standard equipment. I was distracted part way through. Perhaps he talked of that? Take care stay safe. 🐂🤠🏞️🛩️
@brodricj30233 жыл бұрын
Not allowed to do that. The installation is certified as installed and changing it without a design approval is illegal. If Betty is too loud wear ear plugs and turn up the radio volume to compensate.

You just put the temp into the baro box and it does the work for you and spits out your new lower number

👍. Wonderful flight with beautiful scenery as always. Hello Jeff nice to meet you. When I first seen you on that side Ryan I thought you had a student with you. Not really the case except in a way we're all students since we never stop learning. Everyday is a new experience. It's a nice thing and necessary to have redundant systems. That's especially nice when they speak to you. Unfortunately you have a loud female voice blaring at you! whoops, I suppose gender doesn't matter. The thing about my airplanes, they are experimental. Putting in a potentiometer is easy and allowed. That's not necessarily true with certified planes. I have no idea with pgs rules are? And even putting a piece of duct tape over it to help mute her. It's likely not allowed. No one would know unless. And it's the unless that would cause major problems. Even in the most minor of accidents they find tape over the speaker in an investigation, you can be certain trouble will follow. At least if she is standard equipment. Perhaps the mechanic can ask for a waiver for a potentiometer. And it's quite possible there's already been a directive filed for it. after all it's sort of a safety issue if she's drowning out tower instructions, or other necessary audible devices that's not good. Stay safe, God bless! 🐂🤠🏞️🛩️

@thesidedeck-gamingcafe86793 жыл бұрын
They're in PNG, so the rules may be different abroad. Here under FAA jurisdiction, in a non-pressurized plane, between 12500 and 14000 you can fly up to 30m w/out supplemental oxygen. Above 14000, crew is required to be on oxygen, and above 15000 all crew and passengers are required to be on O2. Skydiving is different because you're not the crew of airplane, and you're not at that altitude long at all.
