How expensive is that plane & what is the typical lifespan?
@thevirtualcockpit500120 сағат бұрын
That was a text book IFR lesson Ryan. I'm still learning glass cockpit, but have come to really appreciate the G1000 visuals and information. Still...inside the ping pong ball till short final gets the pulse going. Super thankful for this instruction sir.

scary nice flying

At 0:32, you needed 740 lbs.of fuel for this flight, had landed with 490 lbs. and called for an additional 146 lbs. (73 on each side). That's 636 lbs., not 740. Oops, or am I missing something?

Really incredible the typical conditions you fly in, pretty much scud running on the way back; such excellent judgement. Fly safe.

What is that Red/Orange "thing" that was attached to the plane at 01:23, and removed at 07:28 ?

Someone asked about avionics. Yes, it is a G1000 (he said so), but it's a little different. A standard G1000 includes an internal autopilot, but this airplane does not. The controls for the G1000 AP are right below the heading knob, which is blank here. Instead, it has an external S-TEC 55X beneath the left and center displays (the long thin greenish line is its LCD display). It's integrated into the G1000 because it has a status display at the top of the PFD. No idea why. There is also an external HF radio which looks like a Bendix-King unit for ranges beyond VHF coverage. If you hear four numbers in a row on the radio, that's an HF frequency in kHz.

hey man, fantastic chanel. i have a question. I saw you use Windy in another vid, so you must really trust that, or is it just the best weather forecast you have there? It was also very off in that vid. I have had times, where it was so off compared to the official German aviation forecast, I came to not use it anymore as my primary source, just overall stuff. How is your experience with it?

Train whistle. Truck horn. Car horn. Motorcycle horn. All work for birds. Couple of toots or constant on off in any horn will get birds looking at you and moving quickly out of your way.
@MissionaryBushPilotКүн бұрын
you would think a roaring airplane would do the same, but nope
@ericrogers2036Күн бұрын
@@MissionaryBushPilot try roaring locomotive. Yes it works. For flight birds. Not for animals or flightless birds. The locomotive bell works best for that. Why would you not at least try it. Birds constantly hear airplanes all the time. When they hear the horn at a time when on the runway with aircraft approaching, That's THE DIFFERENCE!!! They get out of the way hearing the horn a kilometre away. Jeez go try it. Car. Motorcycle. Then your roaring airplane.
@ericrogers2036Күн бұрын
@@MissionaryBushPilot go think like a bird or animal on the runway and way off the runway. Go listen. It's constantly the same. Now go stand on or near the runway with someone leaning on their car horn on off. They get way off the runway hearing the difference. Flight birds takes flight. It's easy for them. Something new scares them. Not your constant airplane noise. The horn gets them looking and moving out of the way. I voiced this to others, they quickly said, oh, no way that will get approved with airplane's electrical system. Okay jeez. Go play with the flock then. Don't you have people on the runway too? While landing? Engine not roaring so much?!
@ericrogers2036Күн бұрын
@@MissionaryBushPilotokay still on this. Here some math. You 70 mph is 100 feet per second. A horn is on off new noise at 1125 feet per second. It's not a noise that slowly gets louder and is not a known noise they are used to. Okay not math. Even birds have some logic. I don't like new noise.

BUCARAMANGA COLUMBIA,.... THE EXACT SAME SETUP. DUMPS INTO A CANYON THAT REQUIRES PULLING A HARD LEFT CLIMB OR SLAM INTO THE SUMMIT ON THE OTHER SIDE! I THOUGHT THAT WE WERE CRASHING INTO THE SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN ON APPROACH AND WENT INTO THE FIELD AT THE TOP BUT THEY GOT IT STOPPED! I HAD RESERVATIONS BEFORE HAND AND NOTHING BUT RESPECT AFTER! THE CLOSEST TO BEING IN A CRASH WITHOUT CRASHING!....
