The general state of the DPS role fucking sucks. Our role lost its identity, now everyone can get to be the DPS without having to deal with the weaknesses of our role. Remember when Blizzard tone down Sojourn and buffed supports because it felt like dbd for supports. DBD is back for every support besides Illari/Bap/Brig. This patch is absolute cheeks. Why would you nerf Juno's HP when her mobility is her only form of self sustain? Why did you nerf her damage and buff her autolock abilities? They nerfed the most balanced support added in almost 8 years while Illari still has 250 HP and Pylon as strong as it is. Juno legit has no self sustain and somehow caught a stray while Illari has one of the best movement options in the game. Juno legit gets farmed by Hog/Sombra/overtuned hitscans, but Illari has an ult that guarantees value due to how easy it is to proc the damage from it. Activision needs to replace the balance team ASAP. They have shown they do not know how to do their job.

I think the funniest part to me about these patch notes is you can clearly tell these people have NO IDEA what they're doing in the slightest. In games they'll usually just add a second or 2 to cooldowns, maybe adjust damage by a few numbers but in overwatch 2 they just add like 20 damage and 50 heath to everything.

This patch is wild; slap on the wrist for DVa, ignoring all the excessive damage and defense buffs she got. HP nerfs on Echo, Juno, Hanzo and Moira, Lucio but not Tracer/Genji even though the logic was 'mobile non-tank hero' lmao they're so consistently inconsistent that it's amazing. Also they state that Echo was also dominant like Pharah but nerf Echo yet not Pharah. lmao Open queue is actually 4 tanks to 1 support, typically these days. They’ve painted themselves into a corner where tanks are either unkillable or get blown up depending on how good your DPS are. Good DPS = you just walk forward. @@neilmallick20 well it being just a top 500 problem is an issue, because you need to balance from top down, as pylon will eventually become a problem for every rank and it literally makes the game a 6v5, also captive sun is literally a better dps ult than any dps ult in the game other than emp. Her winrate on pc gm/high master is like 57% and console is 60%. As for hitscans, Widow needs nerfs and a full rework, F the hero fantasy it's literally the most awfully designed and unhealthy hero in the game. Cree could lose 25hp, no need for him to have 50 more health than echo, ashe already stated, and bap and illari are literally ranged-hitscan dps, so that is in the category

It's weird indeed. Venture and Illari are awful, ZERO charisma, so for them to not have legendary skins, that is understandable (not the ideal situation, of course). I will say this, I bought OW1 full price and have being playing OW almost daily since the beginning. I have "invested" more than 4000 hours in it, have watched thousands of hours of videos about OW. I really like the game design. I even bought mugs, funko pop figures etc. After so many years, I have learned all the maps, all the heroes etc. And because they are incapable of balancing it correctly, I now have to switch to Marvel and start all over again, in my 40s and while having a 9-5 day job.... It is betrayal to have suffered so much at the end of OW1 just so OW2 is launched and 12 seasons later it just gets worse and worse. all of that so they can sell 50$ skins. Marvel will either be the saviour for most of us or this type of gameplay will die

I don't think any of us ever expected them to hit the characters that needed to be hit. But putting that aside, I really like a lot of the QoL changes here. Lifeweaver's gonna feel a lot better without being numerically stronger (they should drop his numbers now tbh), the Juno changes seem mostly really solid, I like the Junkrat change cuz that character's too corny.
