Abandoned Urbex Canada

Күн бұрын

On May 17th 2008 a horrible crime was committed at this apartment complex. Located in Toronto, Canada, this apartment complex is hidden by large temporary walls and heavy overgrowth. First off my condolences to the family and friends effected by this horrible tragedy. May 17 2008 a dad gave his 3 year old son a note and told him to walk down to the superintendent unit, knock on the door and hand him the note. This note said “why I did this and my confession tape is in my car” the superintendent quickly ran the unit # 76. Once he got there the unit was on fire. The next day they found the 3 year olds dad, mother and grandmother deceased. The police checked the dads car for the confession tape. They found it but the tape was blank. Investigators determined the dad stabbed his wife in the heart, strangled his mother in law to death and started a fire using gasoline. He stayed inside the apartment while fire quickly spread. It was determined the man died of smoke inhalation (suicide) During the fire the police took the 3 year old boy to safety. The boy later moved in with family.
Episode 139
CityNews article:
It was a terrible tragedy that left a young boy an orphan and likely to be forever haunted by the actions of his own father.
An autopsy has revealed the causes of death of three people involved in a ghastly double murder-suicide last Saturday night in the Don Mills and Lawrence area. Crews arrived to find an apartment unit in flames at 50 Green Belt Drive, and a search for survivors the next day turned up a grim toll - three bodies were still inside the burned out residence.
Two of them died especially gruesome deaths but it had nothing to do with the fire. One of the victims, 46-year-old Ildiko Szava - the young boy’s mother - succumbed to what police call a ‘penetrating stab wound’ to the heart.
Karolyne Gallasz, the child’s 70-year-old grandmother, was the victim of strangulation.
The man police suspect put all this carnage in motion, 41-year-old Majid Ahmad, is the only one who died as a direct result of the fire he’s believed to have set. The autopsy showed his end came due to smoke inhalation.
It may never be known what set off this tragic chain of events that has torn a family apart forever. Court documents show Ahmad was convicted of assaulting and threatening to kill Szava back in 2005. But relatives say the couple had reconciled and were getting along much better.
No one in the family ever suspected what was coming.
The lone survivor in this deadly domestic is the most innocent. A three-year-old child was left in front of the building superintendent’s door with a note from the father, apparently confessing to his actions and promising a taped explanation in his car. But when police listened to the cassette, there was nothing on it.
The disturbed father left his son with one last gift before he died - a bottle of milk so the child would not go hungry. He’s going to be cared for by relatives, who have already agreed to take him in.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

It's extremely devastating. Imagine the confusion and trauma the little boy experienced. The building didn't look fancy, but it looks like it provided the bare necessities. Hopefully, they will be able to tear down those buildings soon and rebuild more much needed housing. Thanks for taking us there, Brent

Government housing from the 50s, 60s in Canada is plain but was roomy and adequate. But tenants didn't a,ways carefree it, even back in the 60s, 70s. Heyday, never mind 40 years later.

That last apt you went into was a Meth lab. Smart to stay out and far away from they tend to explode due to toxic chemicals mixing together

Wow, such a tragedy. I hope that child is raised in a loving a stable home. Also, there is a typo at the beginning of the video (the word "commited"). Love your channel. ♡

I dunno why this video was in my feed, but awesome channel bro, but you're crazy going into these places by yourself. Bring a mate and at least carry a self defence weapon. God forbid you get hurt. Sending power and blessings from Melbourne Australia

You are smart. Exit point, keeping an eye out for needles. I see many explorers disregarding safety. You are alone and anything can happen.

Those staircases feel very 1950’s to me. Kind of neat, how they’re open/see-through like that, especially in a small space. Takes some getting used to walking up stairs like that though. Disorienting.

Looks like most of the apartments were cleaned out before they started falling apart. I wouldn’t like to live there when it was new! Small apartments for sure but thanks for the tour - my curiosity is satisfied! I’m with you as my favorite are the old hoarder houses full of stuff! That’s interesting and creepy at the same time!😊
