The 1992 Lithuanian team was arguably better than that 2012 Lithuanian squad that the USA team barely beat. 1992 had Sarunas Marciulonis and Arvydas Sabonis while the 2012 squad's best player Linus Kleiza was a role player who didn't post the numbers of Marciulonis or Sabonis. And the Dream Team beat that squad by 51. Another starter on 2012 LIthuania averaged 1.5 ppg for Duke and never made the NBA but scored 14 points vs Team USA.

The 2012 USA team only beat Spain by 7 points and beat Lithuania only by 5 points, how is that dominant lol. And not all the talent was that much better than what the Dream Team played in 92. Look at Lithuania's best player in 2012 Linas Kleiza. Kleiza's career high was averaging 11 ppg in the NBA. Lithuania's second leading scorer in 2012, Darius Songaila, averaged 6.9 ppg as a role player for different teams in the NBA. Compare that to the 1992 Croatian team who the Dream Team beat for the gold by 32 points, you had Toni Kukoc who went on to win 6th man of the year and championships with the Bulls, Drazen Petrovic who was the Nets' leading scorer (22 ppg) and becoming one of the NBA's best shooters (44.9% from 3 pt range) before he tragically passed away, and Dino Radja who averaged 16.7 ppg in four seasons with the Celtics, his best was a solid 19.7 ppg and 9.8 rpg in 95-96. LIthuania was not a great team and this "dominant" 2012 team barely won.

Honestly, I think this years 2024 team might be the most talented, and have a strong case to be the best Olympic team we have assembled. Yes its still early and they havent won anything yet but look whos on that team. The best 3 point shooter of all time, the top big men in Joel, AD, Bam. Lethal scorers in Ant, Tatum, KD, Lebron and Booker. Holiday, Tatum and white all have chemistry from winning a chip together. I'm excited to see what this team does.

92 was way more dominant. They might not have been as athletic as 2012, but they were way more dominant. Only because the rest of the world was not as good in comparison bavk in 92. In 2012, other countries had actual NBA players on their teams, whereas 92, other world teams were like amateurs and college kids. So yeah, I think that relatively, the 92 Dream Team was wayyyy more dominant.

The difference why that team was so dominant is because they pressed on defense after scored or they picked up the opponents in their court, weather full court, three quarters or half court at the half court line pressure. They substituted frequently using their bench. The USA Men's Basketball Team's two greatest assets is their athleticism and bench. The last World Championship they played Euro Basketball. They scored and ran back to play defense. I believe they should take a page from Nolan Richardson's playback, "40 mins.of Hell". Full court pressure on defense and run run run on offense. Playing zone or half court man to man is how the rest of the World likes to play especially Europe. Sure Team USA will give up some layups but the other teams will give up more layups. If Team USA relies on the 3 point shot as their major weapon I believe they will struggle for the "Gold". I still think they're capable of winning but playing Euroball...... Don't worry about USA Women's Basketball Team. The rest of the world is still far behind them. The Women's 3 on 3 I believe will be a more difficult task for Team USA. Last year was fun watching. A lot more fun than the "Big 3". That's a boring league. They need some name players or though I think it's very creative.
