I agree. Especially since you get a special little Easter egg when you beat all of the main maps. I’m pretty sure it’s technically possible to do it on duo+ but it’s definitely ridiculous 😓

I remember BotD being so frustrating when it came out, I was too afraid to try and do any of the steps that required solving myself (morse code + hobo code step) and hearing my friend who was attempting them in our game get mad at them made me never want to to Blood's egg again. Since the morse code was properly solved I've attempted and completed the egg solo now and much like you I swear by it being a great main quest.

I actually like the planet step. I don’t find it hard at all. The fact that you can do it all in one round is awesome.

On top of that you can actually do two planets at once. I like to use the fast travels that intertwine through the engine room to do planet combos like Mars and Venus, or Mercury and Mars, or Jupiter then Saturn, so on and so forth.

People don’t like the mimic step because guides didn’t explain it well on release. There’s three locations on the map where the EE mimics spawn and it’s the same every single game. It’s incredibly easy to avoid these locations until the end of a round so you can make sure the mimic you’re getting is for the EE. I breeze over this step without much thought and I can’t help but feel that people find it frustrating because they still don’t completely understand it.

If we are talking about all EE steps I would say for me the hardest is on beast from beyond for ghost and skulls the 3rd step where u have to follow a certain symbol from spawn to the control center and if u fail you have to end the round and try again

Yes, I actually love to planet step too! I've never messed it up, because if you are well set up, it's not hard in my opinion. I also think that blood of the dead is better than mob of the dead, because I think its story telling is amazing and it actually has a longer easter egg and slightly more content, but I also respect and admire mob because it is a remarkable experience.

You should take into consideration that mob is much easier and faster to learn than blood. First couple games of mob and I already built the plane and flew to the bridge along with having the hells retriever.

@@karateguy247 you're right about that, but for a person who goes for easter egg like me, mob's easter egg isn't that intriguing and I can't even do the full easter egg solo. On the other hand, I could always do a full set up on the map by getting the hell's redeemer, upgrading the blundergat all the way up and getting the golden spork, but after that, I can't do anything much. Blood has some truly hard steps for the main easter egg, but it's a long and exciting procedure and something that I would do over and over again and getting better at it.

I thought you were going to bring up the clock step when I saw Voyage and I almost sighed. The clock step isn't hard, and I dont think it's poorly designed either. The only step on Voyage I think is poorly designed is having to shoot the pipes in the Engine Room with a specific elemental Kraken. The rest I really like actually, Voyage is kinda underrated imo

There are multiple cases I feel I could make for maps that weren't included. Flying the the bridge so many times on Mob. If you needed to go there are various points to collect items for the EE it would make sense. But it currently just feels like a case of "how do we lengthen this without adding much substance?". The pain of needing to pull the Wonder Weapon from the box on, like, Every BO1 map.

He's one of the rare ppl who prefers blood over mob but I can understand that since Mob's ee is very short and somewhat repetitive (going to the bridge 3 times) and I would say I like blood more than mob as well just because there's more stuff to do overall with the main easter egg and the abundance of side easter eggs giving it more replay value. I think it's amazing how the solution to solve the morse code step was only found within the last year and the way to find the blue bird was also just solved. Even though this map has been out for years people are still finding new things about it which is crazy to think about. The easter eggs we've gotten in Cold War and Vanguard just haven't been the same, they feel very lackluster in comparison to what we've gotten in bo3 and bo4.

Morse code step isn’t really that bad, I’d argue the dumbest part of the botd ee is having to look at the kronorium, save up shield blasts, input the number code then find the lighthouse beam every single time you wanna start a new challenge But if we’re talking specific steps I really hate the challenge where you have to continually absorb and shield blast a ghost before it reaches new industries, purely because you never have enough shield charges to finish it on solo without breaking off to collect more mid-step.

Yea that Morse code step on blood solo is tough, luckily for me when I beat that easter egg is had a small one instead of a full code. I'm surprised he didn't put the symbols on the pole step for IX, that was one of the hardest steps ever for me to do solo out of all of the maps that can be beaten solo.

On the mimic step if it bugs you just use the teleport back to spawn and the mimic will respawn there and it you can catch it. I had it bug on me before where the trap don’t work I thought man I really don’t want kill it I’m try and teleport to spawn and reuse my trap and it actually work.
