The most EPIC GOLD I have ever seen in the sluice!

The gold in this sluice box is unbelievable. Ounces, ounces and many ounces of gold in this sluice box. My buddy Tyler invited me up to spend a couple days at his Larger scale placer gold mine. I got to film the whole process and take part in the best clean up I have ever seen.

Dan, this Michael-Idaho-USA. I’ll be here tomorrow morning. The nursing staff start waking me 0530 so l hope to be on time. I do start my rehab chores early in the morning hours. Then my instruction classes start at 1015 runs until 1100. Then I hour of O.T. Then my happy lunch. Could be any thing. Breakfast in my past has been just cereal, now no sugar, scrambled egg double portion, sausage, two links or two Pattie’s, or one long bacon. Maybe a biscuit two types of juice, an the best part 8 oz. cup of green tea, plain! That is my gold for today!

Not going too much detail but 2012 I was a senior in high school made poor choices and tragedy struck the family. I fell into massive depression and an opiate addiction, anyways I’m 8 years clean never looked back and during covid I came across your videos! That was an epic gold find in Tyler's sluice. WOW! Dan, a tip for you. Use a stout pole when walking in mud because the stick acts as a *third leg* I cut a 2.5 metre walking pole out of a length of tough quarter-sawn oak, the bottom of the pole slightly wider for stability. So whenever faced with a large puddle on a narrow path, I dip it in the puddle and I get to walk through without doing a might pratfall. Mine has a notch hole about 30cm from the top for my thumb, and I whittled the top being to a nice comfy Y. 15 years old, my 'third leg' has served me well. 😊

Hey Dan. I suggest doing a pan from his tailings to see how much is being washed out. Those riffles in the mats look all bumped up in places. The gold is bring washed over to the side. If it's not laying flat, the riffles fill up in those spots and can't hold any more. Would be interesting to find out.

I love my Goldhog mats. I had them for 8 years and the only wear was on the gorilla tape on the edges. I change them every 2 years. I used the same mats in a highbanker situation and ran 3700 GPH, they love fast water!

It's cool seeing all that gold but what I really appreciate is you taking the time to explain the re-foresting done after the fact; when it comes to mining, the environment is very important more than just trying to follow laws set around it- it matters to practice rehabilitating it for the sake of nature too! Though to be honest I wish it were possible to avoid cutting down habitats to reach the rock but our tech hasn't gotten there yet. I'm not sure if you'd be willing to but if in the future you made videos detailing the environmental impact side of these things I'd be curious to see what it entails, no lies to make it pretty either; I want to know how these fellows are doing their part to take care of nature while they dig like this on such a scale, including noise pollution. I always have concerns when it comes to bigger scale mining operations considering the history of valuing profit over nature but I feel you surely care about the land more than the gold too right? Canada has such a gorgeous natural forest that climate change is hitting hard after all.

Hey Tyler here. When we moved into this site there were very few trees within the border you can see in the video. This was a old cut block from the 80s and was not replanted and they relied on nature's self seeding. After last years mining we had a company come in and plant over 5000 trees in this small area.
