Try being the wheel closer if you haven’t already. I’m guessing force feedback is low on your wheel but regardless the wheel should be closer to your body

I started to play GT7 a few weeks ago, and I was wondering why I get 3 to 5 seconds slower than the majority of other players, but I guess that 90% of players use steering wheel and pedals and I use my controller!!!!
