Those buttons are handmade from Just Another Button Company. They are expensive but have so many cute and unique buttons for speciality projects. I use them on my Art to Heart quilt projects. So cute. I will make the snowman quilt since I have a few bolts of background fabric to choose from. I liked this Jolly Box.
@UndertheNeedle282Ай бұрын
Personally I'd rather have cheaper plastic buttons and then get something else to make up the difference in price. But, I think some double sided decorative pillows would be awesome! That's what I'd like to do.

I feel the same about the box. Rhanks for sharing have a great evening.

I’m with you! I wouldn’t pay that much for buttons ever! I think especially this time of year the MSRP that we see on nearly everything we purchase is inflated! I do like the snowman pattern though!

You are not crazy! I couldn't believe the cost of those buttons either. There are many similar buttons online for much less. This is my first (and last) Jolly Box. Like you, I just don't think there is enough goodies in it. I like the pattern though.

Totally agree about the buttons…. And not THAT much thread is needed to sew them on. A pre wound bobbin of the orange would have been more than enough… and that could have funded something a little more “extra”

I checked Amazon and they have 10 carrot buttons for $ 3.15 or 100 for $3.99! Yeah, a little over priced. Pattern is cute, box ok and I agree another notion would be great. Over all though I still like what FQS puts out

They have got to be kidding on the price of those buttons! On a different note,in the U.K. we pay around £16 per metre for fabric like Moda. OK a metre is slightly longer than a yard (3 inches) but £16 in current conversion is $20.28. Cute pattern though.

OK, I went to the button company's website and they are literally handmade from polymer clay, and they are expensive, more than $1.00 each for carrots but I still think there should have been something more in the box.

It is definitely a way to add a little prettiness to your sewing space. I definitely won't be buying the finishing kit but I have placed this on my 2025 to-do list. Not the whole quilt, but a block or two. Hopefully I'll get to it. We'll see though.

When you get your new glasses, if they have the scratch resistant coating, DON"T use lens cleaner with alcohol in it. Luckily my lenses were still under warranty so I got new prescription lenses for free. But good golly, I could hardly see out of them and couldn't get the cloudy part off of them. Our local drug store had the lens cleaner I bought and when I looked at the ingredients, it did say it alcohol. The lens cleaner I had in my sewing room just said it had ' proprietary detergents' that are gentle. So I'll see if I can use the alcohol lens cleaner for cleaning my windows! Hope you enjoy your new glasses. I haven't watched your open gate christmas box video yet because I'm opening it up day by day. I've just opened day 3 and was a lot disappointed because the scissors are right handed. I tried using them, but they definitely don't work for left handed folk. Once I get to day 12, I'll be watching your video to see what you thought!
@UndertheNeedle282Ай бұрын
Hello and welcome to my channel. I'm sorry the scissors didn't work for you. I will say they are incredibly sharp. I was snipping a piece of yarn and accidentally caught a little piece of my finger 😩. As far as my glasses, I usually only use a microfiber cloth. If they're really dirty I'll run them under the faucet first then wipe with the cloth.
@deniseb9171Ай бұрын
You are the 3rd person I've watched that said "Halloween" for the thread, and WHAT?? for the buttons $$. Lol, I think the pattern is cute but not cuddly with the plastic buttons!!

I don’t purchase these specialty boxes…those buttons would have made me mad and I don’t like paying $4/fat quarter either. I like the pattern and would use my stash for all of it. I do purchase the Open Gate and Soft Squares holiday boxes and that is more than enough for me!

The buttons are crazy pricey, but their buttons are hand made and always super expensive so I’m not surprised. That’s why I don’t buy them. Those nose buttons are probably worth nearly $2 each. That being said I love this box and even ordered the finishing kit (which I never do!) because snowmen are my thing for this time of year and that fabric line is super hard to find
@UndertheNeedle282Ай бұрын
I didn't know they were handmade! But that's still a lot of money for buttons 😩. I really liked the snowmen and I want to make a few blocks. And the fabric is top tier!

I do a lot of cross stitch and that’s why I’m familiar with the Not Another ButtonCompany. So was not as shocked as most quilters. But, like I said, I don’t buy them because I’m cheap! 😜

I'm thinking typo? $3.98?
@UndertheNeedle282Ай бұрын
They say the value of the box is at least $110. So if the price of the buttons isn't accurate then the stated value isn't there.
@filmclub9213Ай бұрын
So, look at the price that you actually did pay, and was it worthi t?
@UndertheNeedle282Ай бұрын
It was exactly as advertised. $110 value for $70 paid. But $30 of that $110 value went to those dang buttons.
@lukefonfabre2Ай бұрын
you say that FQS sells fabric for $12 yard then the fabric bundle is overpriced as well at $50 if I heard you correctly say there were 12 fat quarters; that is only $36 in fabric... just saying :)
@UndertheNeedle28229 күн бұрын
There's always an upcharge on pre-cuts. $3.50-$4 per fat quarter is pretty much an industry standard. Personally I think it's outrageous and generally try to purchase my fat quarters for $2 each.
