Loved the vid today, for your Pompano took my heart away. For my oldest grand daughter brought down my 3 great grands to have Christmas dinner with me that day. For I fixed padded oysters and a nice big Pheasant with all the fixings of the day. We used to catch pompano when I was a kid growing up in florida. My grandfather's motto was, " you sell the pompanou and keep the whiting." But we still managed to eat some pompano occasionally. Awesome fish!!!

Reminds me of a day on Lake Norman! My dad and his buddy had me whooped all day,both had limited out and I had caught only one striped bass all day and using the same artificial lures. Day was over and we were heading to the landing when I saw a gull working a cove near the landing. Told dad that we needed to check it out because I saw that bird that morning. Caught a 28’12” striped bass on 10lb line! It was AWESOME SAUCE! The ones that they kept would fit down the throat of the one I caught! 😜

Darn sure a nice catch of Pompano. And those 'poor man's tarpon' (aka: lady fish) are a blast to catch on light tackle! (and they make great chum too!) And Mike needs to move that friggin' cooler somewhere else in the boat. Tripping all over that thing trying to work back there fishing. There isn't enough room in that boat for that thing to ride back there. JMO

Pompano is the only fish I eat out here in the States. Vinegar, salt, garlic, onions, ginger and coconut milk. The best fish soup you'll ever eat with hot rice. Game ova.

Yeah I heard you guys are on the inlet up there we're getting pompano from the first cold fronts in November, that's about when we started getting them here in Brevard. Went across the street and caught a couple today actually, love this time of year,, been blanching sand fleas since early Oct.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Guys! Great video!! I've only caught small pompano surf fishing off the beach around St George and never knew they pulled that hard!! I see now they fight a lot like a permit using their wide bodies against the current. I would have probably been in shorts but I would have had shoes on...had a red snapper dorsal fin embedded in my toe before and that was the last time!! Haha!
